Utility armoured vehicle but what does découverte translate as?
It means recon (as reconnaissance).
But I am just guessing.
I asked about it on the French ASL forum...

Discovery/uncovering
Matetranslate gives "armoured discovery utility vehicle"
and for Voiture de Prise de Contact gives "car pickup contact" which sounds like a vehicle designed to patrol red light districts. Either that or an early telegraph based Uber App.

Philippe Naud - designer of the Vae Victis scenarios and a historian - thinks that it is just a model name, with no acronymic meaning.

Interesting, but I'm wondering about the 3LMG's. are they part of the vehicle's equipment, and remain inside usually, but not fired without passengers? Its' the only way I can see 3 LMG's being used. Would need some note about a SCA, PCA, or RCA 2fire 8 range LMG if carrying passengers.

I've tried to draft the notes so one lmg may be fired as a BIG. This leaves a squad able to fire 2 others.
I might need to specify that the BMG may only be fired if carrying passengers.
