I actually bought a copy of Anzio, I watch it - and Battle of the Bulge - the same way I would watch Plan 9 From Outer Space. They're so very, very bad that they become good. Best part of Anzio is the walk through the Royal Palace of Caserta in the opening credits.
Funny. Last time I watched either one was in the last millennium. As a kid, I loved the MGs hidden in the haystacks

I think my favorite five are:

Lawrence of Arabia
Zulu
Glory
Apocalypse Now
Duck Soup

Incidentally the last war movie I watched was "White Tiger". It was cool to see the Soviet gear (somewhat less so the "supertiger") but the story degenerated badly toward the end when the film becomes basically a Putin Propaganda piece. (Don't be put off by the T55 inexplicably featured on the promotional materials - it doesn't feature in the film.)
