I do not see the Giants making a return trip to the W.S.
I know, there's still 35(+/-) games left in the season; but
their offense is non-existent and they've got a number of
injured players.
I'm branded a heretic here in NorCal for suggesting that
the Giants are one and done, but they just don't have the
spark this year.

You can still win the division, and it's an interesting race to watch unlike the other divisions.

Once you make the playoffs strange things can happen!

We've got a lot of games left against Cleveland, so I'm not comfortable yet. Especially since we can't win at their ballpark. Anybody know offhand how many of the remaining Tigers/Indians games are at Cleveland?
Looks like 3 in Cleveland and 3 in Detroit. Getting swept this weekend killed us.

Oh well, I said we were at best a .500 team at the beginning of the season and that is about where we will end up.

Of course along the way, we traded our best minor league pitcher for an "ace" who has hardly been an "ace" for over a year. What a bad move that was.

Peace

They didn't have the spark last year either until september...doing that with a cast of position players that nobody wanted and a rapidly emerging young and front line 1-5 + a more than competent pen.

They are like the '66 Dodgers - can't hit their way out of a wet paper bag, but in the case of the "gints", get in to the playoffs and watch their staff expose the leagues position players - turning pluses into liabilities, like an elite staff should in an intimate series....

Anything's possible, although the Giants are 7-13 so far in August. Maybe the D-Backs will go into a big slump?
Apparently they still have fans...

ANOTHER great pitching masterpiece by Verlander. Poor Tampa Bay!

My Tigers are gonna rock baseball's world!

My new concern is that Cleveland must finish above Chicago. I like Cleveland, but hate Chicago. The Twins suck.

Please let Texas win.

Somebody nuke the beer makers.

Arizona will take the division.

Atlanta is gay.

Personally, with the controversy back in June over the firing of their hitting instructor, spearheaded by Kinsler and Napoli (who are battling for the top spot in MLB for the Most Valuable Racist Redneck Award) and the complete and total lack of due diligence by Ryan and the front office in the matter, and yeah my facts are accurate and straight from the appropriate sources, I hope they go into the tank and never come out.

BTW there is a world of difference between a redneck and a RACIST redneck....

Agreed!

Agreed on all counts. Joe Mauer is too busy doing those stupid Head & Shoulders commercials it seems.

Please let Texas win.
Agreed! Hate the Angels.

Somebody nuke the beer makers.
Nope! I don't care about them but I hate STL. I wish the Pirates would turn things around again. Ever since that blown call at home they have been in a tailspin.

Arizona will take the division.
Maybe. I still like SF better but it doesn't look like a repeat at this point.

Atlanta is gay.
Agreed! PHI wins this division easily.

As for the AL East, hopefully the NYY win it because I know BOS will hate it. I can't stand BOS! :kotz: I wish TOR & BAL could get their shït together and get back to competing.

Kevin,

Do you take a lot of heat for being a Red Sox fan as I am under the impression that you are from Texas?

My apologies if that is inaccurate:)
Live in Texas by choice....

No Baseball teams in the state are worth rooting for.

Born in Boston and grew up a Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots fan (did not like the Celtics until the mid-1980s while in Germany).....
