Well this is it folks. Chicago and Detroit meet here for a three game weekend series starting today. We're five and a half games ahead of them. The presure is all on them.

If my Tigers can get a sweep it will spell doom for the Bleached Hosery! DOOM!

:horse:
We did it! We swept Chicago! :hurray:

We destroyed their pitching with 33 runs in three games. We won today 18-2! The Chicago manager Gilligan left some poor reliever in there to get slaughtered for seven runs in the 7th. Poor guy...his ERA shot through the roof in one inning. Guess Gilligan figured the game was lost at that point, so let the guy hang out there. I actually felt sorry for their pitchers!

Chicago is history after this series. Now the Indians...

Arizona scored four in the eight tonight to top poor San Fran. Guess SF is pretty much out of it now too.

So the post season is shaping up. In the NL Philly will play Arizona. And Atlanta v/s the Brewers.

The AL is still undetermined...

Yep. I'm plenty worried about Philly. But, hey, nobody expected us to even make the playoffs.

I'm rooting for Arizona BIG TIME!

Manager Kurt Gibson is one of my favorite ex-Tigers from the '84 championship team, as is Allan Trammel (bench coach) as well. These guys are good friends with each other and work well together. It's a shame Trams didn't make it as a manager here in Detroit (he had tied the worst record season of any manager in history).

I'm so glad Gibson is making it as a manager. Gibson was a Tigers batting coach for a while. He used to live a few miles from me. I admit I know almost nothing about the Diamondback's players. I hear they were gathered up from a bunch of different teams and then gelled somehow?

The Sports talk radio and Tiger's announcers are all orgasming about an Arizona/Detroit World Series. I sure wish it would happen. Pure magic!

I hate to say this as a Tigers fan, but I don't think that the Tigers have the legs to make it all the way.

MY GUT says Boston Philly with Philly in 7. But hey, I'm awful at predictions, so, what do I know?

We have a great coaching staff. Gibby, Trammel, and Don Baylor is the batting coach.

I don't think we are any worse about gathering players than anybody else. Upton is home grown, a great hitter but an average right fielder at best, but he's a punk I'm sorry to say. He acts just like Bonds. Now this kid Goldschmidt they just brought up, I think he's going to be really something. Unbelievable power and a very good fielder at first.

Chicago got screwed by their big-time acquisitions. Dunn and Rios...I don't know what happened there. It's inexplicable. And to think I was disappointed when the Tigers didn't pick up those guys! If they had had even average seasons I think Chicago gets five or seven more wins.

Cleveland's injuries have hurt them too much, while the Tigers have been pretty healthy. I though that the Indians getting starter Jiminez would put them over the top, but he's flopped.

On the other hand our pick-ups have perfomed fantastically. Martinez has made our offense complete. He's a great hitter! Peralta is having a career best season. And our catcher Avila went from hitting .230 last season to .300 with power this season...and he's been great defensively.

Pitcher Fister has been incredible since we got him from Seatle, lasting seven innings a start and only giving up one or two runs a game. Today he had an awesome 13 strikouts against Cleveland, seven of them swinging! He was supposed to be our number five starter, but now he's two or three. And then to top it all off Verlander is insane this year. The best he's ever pitched.

Everthing is going our way.

Rios was a take-a-chance-on-an-underachieving-guy...might've worked, didn't.

Dunn has been consistent his whole career...inexplicable.

I'm pulling for an Arizona/Detroit series, too. I really like Leland. Does he still sneak smokes in the dugout during the game? I hate the Yankees and Boston is another big market team.

WOW! The Tiger swept both Chicago and Cleveland in six straight games, during which they scored 58 RUNS! If that isn't a statement I don't know what is. I just don't see the Bleached Hosery and Indians recovering mentally from that kind of pounding. This was their big chance to gain on us and they got slaughtered.

I'd say I'm not one to gloat...but that would be a lie. :hush:

In the past 25 games the Tigers have averaged 6+ runs a game. They've won 19 of their last 26 games.

We have four .300+ hitters, and three .275+ hitters in our lineup.

Verlander's WHIP is .91 and he's won ten straight. Fister hasn't given up more than one run in his last five games. Valverde has tied the Tiger's record for saves with 42 saves in 42 attempts...perfect.

That's it. Game over. He's dead Jim. The Central is ours! :joy:

Now it looks like we may best Texas in total wins for home field advantage in the first round! :yummy:

I already have one thousand rounds of ammo. :rifle::nofear:

It's fire extiguishers I need. :bigfire:

Please donate to the Glennbo fire extiguisher fund so I don't burn up!

By the way your Bleached Hosery still keep winning...just not against Detroit. They irritate me with their persistence.
