in my opinion, if you had not been so totally defeated in the opening weeks of the campaign you may have had a chance of holding out Berlin for the whole scenario and winning.
Hmm, maybe... but then again not if you indeed had continued the tactical approach you started with

Ahh, yes, that could be true. It's just really hard with all these units crammed into sucha small place.

The isolated Soviet 29th Tank Corps was eliminated.
I managed to establish contact with units in Liegnitz.
The Danzig garrison recaptured Gdynia.
The Luftwaffe claims to have downed 400 enemy aircraft for the loss of 223 friendly aircraft.

Wyatt's loss penalty has increased these last 2 turns, proving the going is getting tougher the closer he comes to the heart of the Reich.

 It's '9' now. What was it before?
It may have momentarily jumped higher than '9' as I disbanded a large chunk of forces i an effort to rebuilt many shattered divisions.

Germany/Poland:
In an effort to make things easier on myself I have decided to halt most non-Guards units.
Awesome, a battle against 12 King Tigers lasted 60% of my turn...As I get closer to Berlin I am facing more and more ‘ant’ units, which are causing me to burn nearly every turn into an early turn end. In another battle that saw a stack of units containing two ‘ant’ armoured formations I burned 80% of my turn.
At least I managed to destroy the Nordland SS, H. Wessel SS, and 1st Panzer Division, all trapped behind my lines, in this first round.
Well, at least I got to use the 20% of my turn I had left.
I actually did really well, considering most of my turn was pissed away. I managed to gain a hex row or two all along the front line; mainly because I’ve gone back to planning my attacks meticulously and not just rushing off behind enemy lines with my Tank Corps (thought the 7th Guards Tank Corps did run off and take Dresden...)
Serious forces are 140km from Berlin.

Air War:
About 200 enemy craft were downed for the price of 99 friendly craft.

Dresden was lost to the 7th Gds Tank Corps:eek: The city is now blockaded.
I only carrid out one attack, in the North by the 601st and 602nd Divisions, all others were involved in correcting the frontline.

Since June 22 1944 the Luftwaffe lost following amount of aircraft:

Bf.109 - 1267
Ju.87 - 942
He.111 - 2019
Ju.88 - 2671
FW.190 - 3592

Awesome, 6 tanks burned 80% of my turn.
Since I again got to use the remaining 20% of my turn I did respectably again, considering 80% of my turn went up in smoke.
Serious Soviet forces are now within 120km of Berlin.
The 7th Guard Tanks Corps found itself looking for Hitler in Potsdam.

Air War:
About 165 enemy craft were downed for the price of 103 friendly craft.

This one better should be called "Drang nach Westen"

The situation on the morning of Dec 21, 1944. It just shows the mess I'm in... having Soviet tanks strolling through Potsdam was not my idea of seeing Christmas caroll singers in Germany's streets :hissyfit:
