Looking through CoS last night, I came across an SSR that I can't make sense of. In both BFP-101 Panzer Spirit and BFP-104 Flying Turrets, there is an SSR giving some Low Ammo vehicles a "Circled B12." However, this doesn't actually seem to make sense.
From D3.71 Low Ammo B# (italics mine):
"A Gun with a B(#) malfunctions on an Original 12 To-Hit/IFT DR and suffers Low Ammo on any other Original To-Hit/IFT DR >= the B(#)."
So what effect can a B(12) have? Normally, an Original 12 does not place a Low Ammo counter, only another result that is at least equal to the B(#) can place a Low Ammo counter. I also flipped through the entirety of Chapter H. AFAICT, there are no B(12) vehicles (for just this reason, I think). The existing range is B(8)-B(11).
I can see two possible meanings for B(12):
1) On a 12, the Gun malfunctions and a Low Ammo counter is placed. In case the Gun gets repaired, it will be under Low Ammo and suffer the penalties (i.e. X on 12, B on 11).
2) It's a normal B12. That is, Low Ammo rules don't apply.
I think the intent is probably 1), but I think a strict reading of the rules as they are now would lead more directly to 2).
I would appreciate a clarification as to the intent of this SSR. I'm not going to play Flying Turrets in all likelihood, but Panzer Spirit looks like fun.
Thanks.
