Attached below is the scenario list for Spreading Blaze 2024. As always, I want to thank my co-conspirator - Brent Crawford - for all of his hard work preparing the list.

These scenarios are for the standard 5 rounds of play that begins Friday morning.

In addition to this, I am also opening up an optional first and second round format for folks who arrive early afternoon on Thursday and are interested in playing longer scenarios. The winners of this special round on Thursday will play another longer scenario on Friday as their second round match. However if you lose the Thursday scenario then you enter the tournament normally on Friday morning with a 0-0 record and will play two scenarios on Friday. One item to be considered relative to this format is that someone who loses on Thursday, potentially even someone that you defeat, may end up winning the tourney. If you are not comfortable with this, then please don't participate. As mentioned the special rounds are 100 percent optional.

I will post the longer scenarios in a separate thread so as to not confuse them with the standard scenarios attached below.

That beings said, anyone interested in playing in these optional rounds must notify me in advance and let me know what time you are arriving on Thursday. Access to these rounds will be on a first come first serve basis.

I also want to let everyone know that I am extending the $10 discount on the registration fee until July 10th. After July 10th the fee will increase from $50 to $60.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Also here are the scenario names as a convenience so you don't have to view the attachment.

I do not want to try any of the large "Twilight of the Reich" scenarios so look forward to friendly play on Thursday. That said, I would like to try one or two of the scenarios from the Arnhem module "A Bridge too Far." Let me know if you would be amenable to this suggestion. I have never played any of the scenarios on the historical map.

I will be commuting from Buckhead starting Thursday. I forget whether I will need a parking pass or not.
For those traveling in by car, you need to take a ticket when you park and I should have coupons that will reduce the parking fee. That being said, for each of the last two years the exit gate has been generally open at night so no need to use your ticket or pay.

In the open gaming part of Thursday you are free to play whatever scenario you would like. I will mention your preference to others who are also planning on open gaming.

Got into Atlanta last night only to be greeted by a thunderstorm, something that did not occur the three weeks before in Scotland. That said, okay, boasted, what time tomorrow will the gaming room be open?

The room is open and the first game is being setup.... Have 16 participants in the optional round 1 long scenario round today, plus open gaming for those who are not participating in that round.

In other news, last night included a rousing game of Apiary ...

Sunday morning update --

Bill Cirillo and Mike McGrath are playing ASL 292 - Four Stars of Valor for first place.
Sean Deller and Dave Reenstra are playing HazMo 10 - Grist Mill for 3rd place.

In the final of the 8 player / 3 round mini that started Saturday morning, Maurizio Grassi is playing Rich Summer in J245 - Factory Fodder.

Yesterday, Hank Burkhalter defeated Tim Deane in J227 - Another First Day to win the 4 player / 2 round mini.

In the already classic 3-player No Brothers No Friends scenario from Twilight of the Reich, the Belorussian force manned initially by Gene Patterson (and later by Steve Dedier) prevailed over the Ukranian (Gary Bartlett) and German (Steve Garvey) forces.

We have a total of 7 games being played here on Sunday, which is great to see.

More details to come later...

This Steve Garvey? Thought Schilling was the only MLB alum in ASL.

Gary, thank you for the nice tournament. Lot of nice and good players, friendly atmosphere despite the rolls have been extremely aggressive in certain situations. I think in US, the location is the best I have been so far (not a comment on price/quality ratio obviously), nice rooms good food. The way the tournament was managed was great, thanks to your (Brent) and your team efforts. Ci vediamo il prossimo anno (my boss approval is a condition precedent to that, although). Ciao
