Agree with Michael here. I don't think it's the existence or quality that gets to folk but the sheer cost of the packs. If the pack cost $20 I suspect a lot of people here would buy them but at ten times that cost?
The fact that they are hand-made is the real sticking point, I think. Rolls-Royce autos are hand-made, but they make them more than one at a time. You never know when the next WBW module will be up for grabs. If he had a website and could put your name down and be assured of getting it when you wanted it ... well, he'd make much fewer sales. He has built in scarcity. Which should, by all common sense, steer people clear as well. It's just as suspicious as the prices. Yet in addition to forumites known to have purchased these, there are other members of the "ASL community" who are known buyers in addition to the three mentioned above.

I agree with what Michael and Martin say in the previous two and no Martin for all that I have in my collection I have not bought any of these products!!!! yes on E-bay I have paid that sort of money for the rare things but that is why i bought them. These things keep on being produced by said gentleman and I would of bought them if they were at the usual 3rd party prices and hey he could of made a whole load more money selling at cheaper prices.

No idea why this question keeps coming up. At least three posters on this board have purchased stuff from Wild Bill, and discussed the product in open forum here. All you have to do is follow the tags to the earlier discussions. It's a simple matter of paying attention.
I'm guessing yours are definitely for collecting rather than playing.

Wow Oilli! I was pretty sure that you were one of the few who had dabbled in this forbidden pool. Just goes to show how wrong I can be (and normally am).

But Wild Bill ain't selling those items at the high price they reach...people are BUYING them at those prices.
His auctions start low...people are bidding them up.
There clearly IS a market for the stuff.
Frankly...good luck to the guy...the stuff he's doing looks ok to me...and people are paying big bucks for it...nowt wrong with that.
In fact...if I could, I would.

I don't care how much they sell for, and I know M. Pitman has reviewed them but I have hear 0 input on how they play, and 0 requests for VASL modules. These last two items leads me to believe no one is actually playing them.

Of course to each his own, I have heard of a few people that buy everything ASL and it just sits on their shelves and they used white non-finger print gloves and surgical mask to browse their vast collection (okay I am making that last part up). To me that is ridiculous, because these (ASL) are games and were meant to be played for adult entertainment, but if you spend your money and let them sit on your self so you can fawn over it that is fine, but the real meat that us gamers want to hear is how does it play, is it good.

Someone who is a collector can't give gamers that kind of feedback if they never played the game. Its kind of like someone who has read and collected all the books there is on sex and seen and watched all the porno movies in the world but is still a virgin.

When the Vietnam things came out I thought, hum I bet some guys will play that. But no nothing, no playings, no VASL no hurrah's its a great/bad module. Mark has reviewed them but still I have not heard one soul that has actual (okay we really need two) that has played them.

It just seems kind of goofy to me.

I think it's quite normal.
Seriously...
Think model railways....stamp collecting....collecting dolls...etc...
They're collectors..simple as that

I agree with you by the way insofar as the game being for playing.....but I can understand the collecting mentality

You've been told multiple times where to read at least one AAR on the products by someone who actually plays them.

To me that is ridiculous, because these (ASL) are games and were meant to be played for adult entertainment
Which part of the manual is that requirement printed in?

Mark has reviewed them but still I have not heard one soul that has actual (okay we really need two) that has played them
Given the reception that these modules continue to receive on this forum, and the scathign comments that are made about the intelligence of prospective buyers - again, check the tags for links to other threads - does it really surprise you that more people aren't coming forward on this forum to discuss their experiences?

It just seems kind of goofy to me.
I have no deeper knowledge than you do, but I do know something about empiric research. The way you draw your conclusions are the only goofy thing. ;)

1. No never been told, must have me mixed up with someone else.
2. Page 1 of Common Sense written by The Avalon Hill Game Company 1964.
3. Not sure what to do with that.
4. Empire research is for the birds.

That, for me, is the red flag; how quickly and how high the prices jump. If you don't think it suspicious, you're an idiot....IMHuO...
