The Advanced Squad Leader New York State Starter Kit Championship will be held on 3 & 4 December 2021

The Albany Advanced Squad Leader New York State Championship has a long and storied history. It is one of the preeminent tournament events on the ASL calendar.

Here are the particulars regarding the SK Tournament.
The tournament will be comprise of four rounds and will not be held if there is less than 8 registered players.

The start times of each round will be*:

Friday - 3 Dec: 1PM
Friday - 3 Dec: 6PM
Saturday - 4 Dec: 9AM
Saturday - 4 Dec: 1PM Touch

* Note: There is a great deal of flexibility regarding the start times and will depend upon when the players of each game want to start but each round will start no later than the above times.

1. Prior to play ensure that you see the Tournament Director (TD) so it will be recorded and count for a valid game.
2. If a player needs to be matched with another player please see the TD so that a suitable player can be matched as winning players in earlier rounds need to play other winning players in earlier rounds.
3. The cost of attending and playing in the Starter Kit Tournament the cost is $25. However, the first 8 players that register will get reimbursed their entry fee at the end of the tournament. As an added incentive, those players will get 3 free raffle tickets for the drawing at the end of the tournament (typically Saturday at about 6PM).
4. The winner will receive a 1st Place plaque.

The Scenarios will be decided sometime in October and posted to this forum.

We are striving for challenging environment - but FUN! It does not matter what level you are currently at. Each round will have challenge and scope for any level of player. All scenarios will be available for attendees at the tournament.

In addition to fun we are also striving for this to be safe for ALL participants and so we ask that all players have a valid vaccine card.

Updated (shortened) New York State ASL Starter Kit Championship Information.

The tournament will be held on 3 & 4 December 2021

The tournament will be comprise of four rounds and will not be held if there is less than 8 registered players. The cutoff on getting 8 players will be 24 November. I am hopeful we can get the 8 players needed to conduct the ASLSK Tournament.

The cost of attending and playing in the Starter Kit Tournament the cost is $25. However, the first 8 players that register will get reimbursed their entry fee at the end of the tournament.

Prior to the round each player will give the TD two scenario choices and the side that they would like to play. They should be ranked first and second choices. If a player does not have the scenario to be played it will be provided by the TD. Please remember that any scenario not chosen in each round will be automatically eliminated. So there is no reason not to play because you don't know every scenario.

The New York State ASL Championships (some information):

The old website is no more, however, the information regarding this premier event can be found at the YankeeASL website (https://yankeegamers.org).

There is a box to the left which says NY (Albany) Tournament and clicking that box will bring you to the information including the basic information regarding the event, how to sign up for the tournament as well as the scenarios which will be played at the event. There's also information for the scenarios to be played at the Starter Kit event.

It should be noted that currently we are still shy the 8 players needed to conduct the Starter Kit Tournament. If you have any interest in this (and the cost for the first 8 players is actually zero dollars) please register for the event with Joe Leoce (see the previous post for address and particulars or the website).
