The preparations for the 2024 Edition of the Scandinavian Open are under way – and the first players have already stated their intention to participate. The tournament will again be held at Danhostel Ishøj, the location that served us so well since 2021. Book your flights early - we've been told that they are quite inexpensive at the moment.

The dates of the main event will be February 28- March 3 2024. There will be friendly gaming Wednesday/Thursday February 28-March 1 leading up to the classic 5 round ASO main tournament starting friday running through sunday. The friendly gaming Wednesday and Thursday will take place at the same venue as the main tournament, so you can see it as a chance to warm up for the main tournament or just a chance to play some new opponents in a friendly atmosphere.

Contact Michael Hastrup-Leth (hastrupleth@gmail.com) or Bo Siemsen (bo.siemsen@gmail.com) for registration and a specific price for your stay.

Updates with regards to registered players, scenarios, ABS etc. will be made available on our website leading up to the tournament. Updates will also be announced in the Gamesquad forums in this thread.

WEBSITE UPDATE
We have finally managed to revamp our website :) with the assistance of Øyvind Bjørkås. Thanks for the support. The ASO Website has finally moved out of the 90's :). For now we have portaged the content of the old website to this new "modern" version. It should be a lot more user friendly including for mobile devices.

"The food is not amazing" we thought the food was suitable for Conscripts.
Thanks for the input. I guess.
You dont really need to try and dissuade people from going to Copenhagen. I think people can make up their own mind.

Personally I think the food has been quite good 2 of the 3 years we've been there. There was one year where it was kind of "meh", but the other years I think it works really well for the tournament. It is quick and easy, there's a variety of options and it makes it really easy for us to manage the tournament when we dont have to worry about that sort of stuff.

In my opinion the playing area is really good, things are locked away at night, there's rarely been huge numbers of other visitors, the sleeping accommodations are good and flexible and there's 3 square meals a day for everyone. To me this all adds up to an excellent venue.

Sounds good to me. When Oktoberfest was in Brookpark Cap'n Tacos was the only nearby source of nourishment. 150 plus sweaty gamers overflowing the game room and subsisting on tacos and burritos. Makes you appreciate " meh ".

Best of luck, good gunnin and bon appetit to all who attend!😋

If conscripts could eat and sleep this well, they would be happy indeed.
Food has always been very good when I've been attending, the private rooms are fine, the beds are soft and the gaming area is spacious, well aired and well lit.
But the hosts and the organising is why you really should go to the Scandinavian Open - pleasant, smooth, and always great gaming.
Now, I am looking forward for the scenarios to be announced :)
I´ll be there!!

ASO SSR on Red Churchills changed, and an official SSR added to J245 "Factory Fodder"
Thanks to Derek Ward and Olav Heie for making me aware of it.
