(I'm posting this for our North Texas ASL leader and TD, Ed Beekman.)

Whether you win/won or didn't quite win/won at ASLOK in Oct., come a few weeks later to the 13th annual ASL North Texas Shoot Out to continue that cardboard battling--and trophies!

Whether you play SK or full ASL, whether you're new to ASL or a veteran, all are welcome with the usual ASL friendly camaraderie, snacks, laughter, stories, snakes-at-the-right-time and boxcars-at-the-wrong-time (I guess it depends which side you're on!)

The Tournament will feature the Championship Shoot Out, Master Sergeant Mini, and a SK Mini. We will have the Texas Hold 'Em ASL Poker Game, the All Around ASL Player give away, and T-shirt.

Dates:
Fri-Sun, Nov. 11-13, 2022

Location:
Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fort Worth
6351 North Freeway (also known as I-35W or U.S. 287)
Fort Worth, Texas
We have a special room rate, call the hotel and the code should be TM2 to get the rate.

Registration:
$25 via PayPal to Ed Beekman @ thunderbird.asl.td@gmail.com
Contact our fearless North Texas ASL Club leader, Ed Beekman at thunderbird.asl.td@gmail.com for details and Q&A.

P.S. We have game days every 2nd Saturday at Ed's bunker (3rd Sat. in Oct. since Ed will be at ASLOK!)

We are currently having fun at the North Texas Shoot Out.

Matt Evans says the rest of the weekend is gravy as he beat John Garlic as the Russians in AP144 Ten-Ton Tank. Lots of boxcars and elevens made it difficult for both players but Matt's Commissar did yeoman's work keeping his troops moving forward to victory.

Jim's Tiger tanks, three with malfunctioning main armaments, were able to defeat Tracey's Americans in SP176 Smiling Albert.

Nathan Wegener's late war Germans were able to hold off Will Willow's Brits for another day as the war continued to wind down in FT179 Landstorm Over Arnhem.

John Garlic's Partisans sealed a win over Arlen's Germans with a 1 down 1 KIA shot preventing him from being able to grab the buildings needed to win in SP44 Sufferin' Sudfrankreich.

Other games are ongoing with Germans and Brits fighting in French hedgerows, Poles trying to hold a fortified line against the Germans, Chinese and Japanese in a knife fight, and the British are trying to break out of the Normandy bridgehead.

Stop on by Saturday to check out the ASL action or perhaps take part in the 2 round Master Sergeant mini.

The All Around ASL player this year is John Garlic which earned him first picks from the prize table. He took an out of print copy of East Side Gamers Dezign Pak generously donated by Key Games Emporium (Thank you Alex).

An unusual occurrence from yesterday was in two games a British squad went berserk. Fairly rare to occur once with the British -1 HOB DRM.

The Master Sergeant mini is in progress now with the West Front game, SP43 Dead Eye Smoyer. Lots of low quality Germans being assaulted by an Elite American force, including a reinforcing Pershing, but a Panther is lurking HIP somewhere nearby trying to ruin someone's day.

The main tournament is in the semi-finals. Nathan Wegener's Germans are assaulting Will Willow's Americans in the hedgerows near Martinville ridge. Jim Ferrell and Wes Vaughn are playing an old school combined arms battle in Lorraine with each side having a pair of AFV armed with 105mm howitzers.

You all probably wish you were here.
