He generated a lot of Perry Sez for us.
He felt that if a rule was unclear then a Perry Sez was warranted. This did result in a number of questions that I feel were unnecessary but his philosophy was better to have certainty for new players than rely on the old "that's the way it's always been played".
He couldcarguevhos interpretations very well, even convinced me of one which everyone knows how to play but the rules do not support it! (AFV MA malfunctions on a 12 even if it is B11)

Was Peter ever at ASLOK? The name sounds really familiar, but, I cannot place the face.

An AFV MA is a Gun for firing purposes...

2.28 BREAKDOWN: All Guns have an inherent B# of 12 if not listed on the counter. In cases where malfunction was more frequent, a lower B# is printed on the counter. All normal malfunction and repair provisions apply (A9.7-.74). If a non-vehicular Gun permanently malfunctions it is immediately removed from play.

Afterthoughts: Some may feel this post is inappropriate. My having known Piotr for quite some time, I feel that this is something he would read and enjoy with a chuckle. However, if the mods want to move it to another topic or delete it entirely I am ok with that.

I am very sadded by this

In the 2000's I must have played him live/vasl many times - never recorded them as ROAR was not on the radar at the time or maybe he did not want them recorded
Intelligence was his gift and he used it to help others around him when we were closer - did some stuff teaching kids in the conglomerate of immigrants in Stockholm
He was a bit legalistic in arguments when you played ASL and I doubt that changed - I found it helpful but can see how it could annoy a more casual player.
I was also able to have a wonderful day with him and my family on one of our family holdiays - he was a truely a very sharing individual that made the day in Stockhom really enjoyable
Tragically he smoked a lot and this likely did his heart a disservice he may of just payed the price for

He was awkward, irritating and pedantic as an opponent. I didn't particularly like the guy, but I didn't dislike him. He ruffled a lot of feathers when he first joined our Friday night group, but mellowed a little over time. I believe a lot of his 'irritating' mannerisms were a direct consequence of his huge passion for the game. I honestly don't think I've encountered anyone as passionate about the game as Peter. Rules knowledge? It was akin to having ASL chatGPT on the other side of the cardboard battlefield. The world of ASL has lost one of its most passionate and colourful players.
