The world is crazy. There are not many sane people who would dispute that. I find that the opportunity to play ASL is a sort of escape or retreat from the craziness. The problem is that an ASL player likely has a better than average grasp of history, the underlying causes and the final, often disastrous, outcomes. The end result is that the player will see parallels between history and current events and personalities. Knowledge makes stupidity far more apparent. I'd advise watching good balanced news channels. BBC channel 4, both worth watching and give the lie to "we're all going to hell in a handcart".
