I suppose eventually somebody will make a 3D model for viewing the ASL battle field. As a matter of fact I bet somebody already has.
It might be fun use it for LOS checks and such. You could cruise around the virtual 3D boards and check out different peculiarities.

Perhaps we can even have virtual reality ASL, where you walk the battlefield pushing giant virtual cardboard counters. You have to climb up on them to read them.

It already kind of exists and is called "the tabletop simulator". You can create anything that you like. AFAIK there's only a Squad Leader Module at the moment, no ASL yet.

I can imagine a way to dither the levels and see all the levels at once.
Evenually, with the vehicle patch you could cruise around in any ASL vehicle.

You can have much fun converting ASL maps to Combat Mission and zooming around...

Every LOS would be a peculiarity. ASL LOS does not obey the simple laws of physics in the 3rd dimension (and the nature of the hex grid/centre-dot combination make for some damned odd 2D LOS, too). In ASL, light bends (as if everything in ASL looks at the rest of the world through diffraction).

Yeah, it's like living in a hollow earth, concave up.
