Situation 1:
- Squad with a MG
- Squad first fires inherent FP, but not MG
- Squad is marked with a First Fire counter, SW above it
- MG is not marked with an FF counter
- MPh ends
- (no enemy units are adjacent)
Can the squad fire the MG in the DFPh?

Sitation 2:
- Squad with a MG
- Squad first fires MG, but not inherent FP
- The SW is "marked" with a First Fire counter
- Squad is not "marked" with an FF counter
- MPh ends
- (no enemy units are adjacent)
Can the squad fire its inherent FP in the DFPh?

Additional question:
- in FTF ASL, how do you mark an SW with First Fire, but not the inherent FP of the squad? (in VASL, there is a nice counter)

Situations 1 and 2:
Yes to both, units/weapons not marked with First/Final Fire counters can fire in the DFPh as per A8.4.

In FTF, you just try to remember. ;)

Even SWs that haven't ROF can fire, if the MMC possessing them is marked with a First Fire counter.
I asked* that question at AvalonHill a long time ago, about a US squad and its bazooka (squad had fired during DFF - no SFF neither FPF, neither cowering) : they said it could fire the bazooka during DFPh...

* by 'snailmail' at that time : it took MONTHs to have the answer ! :surprise:

I just place a First Fire counter behind the unit as an aid to memory.

Try to ask Ole Boe where to find his great Defensive Fire Flowchart. It is "somewhere" in the web.

I made some on a word document - with other special markers.
Go and see on the french ASL "Cote1664" site : Cote 1664 - special markers to download.
Have a good day! :D

It is not mine, but Tom Repetti's. I gave him some helpful input, and he thereafter put me up together with himself in the credits. 90% of the credits belong to Tom though.

The flowchart can be found at First Fire Flowchart.

There are also a great many other very good reads on Tom's pages.

Although not very helpful in improving the play, I consider The Real World OBA Flowchart my favourite. :D
