This year's event, the sixth, was staged last month in Anaheim, close to the company headquarters in Irvine, California, and sold out within minutes, when 26,000 fans paid $175 each for a ticket.
Others paid for an online virtual ticket, for access to live video streaming, plus replays of the scheduled events and competitions. More than 500,000 fans took advantage of this option for last year's BlizzCon.
