Westerns are probably my favorite film genre.

For one thing I grew up on them, and as I grew up the Western grew up with me with the likes of the 'modern' westerns.

My favorites have got to be the Sergio Leone westerns - The Dollars Trilogy (A Fistfull Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More and The Good The Bad And The Ugly), and Once Upon A Time in America.
Also the Sam Peckinpah westerns: The Wild Bunch and Pat Garret And Billy The Kid.
And Finally Clint Eastwoods own westerns: The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider and Unforgiven.

These are all modern westerns. As a kid I loved John Ford and John Wayne westerns but when I grew up the films above blew me away.

Any favorites of yours?

Are you a western fan?

Western Front :D

Actually, yes, Westerns are a nice diversion. Specifically stuff like the Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, and Jimmy Stewart films.

Depends on the film.

Some of my favourite dusters are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Little Big Man and anything where the 'Home Team' wins the big fight. ;)

Don't forget Clint's other Westerns: Hang Em High and High Plains Drifter!

Like Westerns almost as much as War movies.

"The Long Riders" with brothers playing brothers was awesome. I bought me one of those long riding coats after that movie. The Carradines and Quaids were so cool in that Movie.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a chick flick.:kotz:

I like those two westerns but they just don't seem in the same league as the three I mentioned.

I would put HPD up against any any of them. Like em all though.

I'm talking as a whole. Some Westerns I like better than some War movies but if it's a choice between a good War movie and a good Western the War movie wins out.

Riding a Bike with a girl on the handlebars come on. Jeez you probably liked "Brokeback Mountain" to didn't ya. You would never catch the Duke on a bike.
Brokeback Mountain isn't a Western as far as I know. It's a chick flick. :D
