A LOT of John Ford Westerns in that lot.

Who directed "True Grit"? Was it John Ford too?

"Unforgiven" was great except for the terrible acting by the Kid. I don't know how he got his part. Eastwood must've owed a favor to someone.
Never noticed his bad acting when I watched it. It seemed quite natural and fitting to the role to me.

John Ford ... the Rembrandt of Westerns ...

He just seemed to "get it", even if the scripts and situations were formulaic. Ford did a lot with character study ... Henry Fonda's stiff-lipped portrayal of Col. Owen Thursday (most people I know who have watched Fort Apache said that they were *hoping* Thursday's men would be wiped out) is just one of the many ways in which Ford changed the "formula" by changing the personalities.

Great stuff in most Ford movies ..

Others I like that haven't been mentioned:

Silverado with Kevin Kline and Danny Glover.
Dances With Wolves.
White Buffalo with Charles Bronson.

Little Big Man
Jeremiah Johnson
A Man Called Horse

There was this one I saw where the main character was part of some military group moving a ship on wheels on land...I think Brian Denehey was in it (not the lead character)...lead gets shot/wounded and left for dead, but survives to track down the leader of the military group to exact his revenge.

What was that western with Gene Hackman and Bridget Bardot (I think it was her) which ends when he shoots both her and her lover in the groin. Ouch! They even added the red blood marks so we get the point.

It might have been with Robert Duvall and different blonde women, who knows?
