Arrived in the hotel after a 2,000 km road trip mostly in Heavy Snow.

Currently pinned, CX and TI......but a one night RePh should help.

I mean Refit Phase, not whatever sick abbreviations are used by deplorables around here.
Well done Peter. Take care and have a fantastic time.

Joe, Steve, many thanks for organizing a great event. Looking forward to next year. Had three of my most competitive games of the year vs. Brian W (losing in Boy Soldiers after a heroic defense that had the sniper blow a hole in the line in the last turn while Brian was sitting 1 VP short......), also great great tank battle with Peter in the FRF game with the M-10s (Amerikanskaya Suka) Peter took the bait and ran a lot of units back to the Victory Buildings on the FRF board, only to have most of the German defenders emerge from the village into the woods and all of the reinforcements run up the side of the board for the Main Victory building in the Russian setup area. I think I had 6 of his vehicles (including a truck with two loaded squads) under fire (PF's, Sthreks, Panthers, TD's oh my) going into his T2 but only managed 1 kill. My forces captured the main victory building but couldn't hold, the highlight was Peter getting a "Drive by" CH on one of my TD's followed by a "Drive by (motion)" CH on 2 squads. Dice were not friendly and although the strategy was sound the execution wasn't and he was able to recover for the victory. Then vs. Magnus in DTF-4 my 2 HW's landed in the village in T4 and winning the subsequent tank battle sealed the victory. Many thanks to all my opponents for a great time. Vic

Top four:
1st JR Tracy
2nd John McDiarmid
3rd Paul Sidhu
4th Ron Duenskie

More detailed update after I get the last few results.

Thanks to all for coming. I was quite pleased with the scenarios. Boy Soldiers was my only small regret. Not because it is a bad scenario or horribly imbalanced -- the defending Russians are a little too brittle. One bad sniper or 12 could sink their chances. Not exactly what I was looking for. That being said, the rest of the Friendly Fire, Death to Fascism and Hatten in Flames scenarios ranged from very good to excellent. For the money the FrF and DTF packs can't be beat...

Congrats to the winners and participants. Albany is still on my bucket list once I overcome my fears of being stuck far from home in a blizzard (this from a person who survived a number of winters in Estonia). We generally look to Albany when picking scenarios for our Bitter Ender.

Congrats, JR! Hope to make it to Albany next year after a few years off.
Sorry you couldn't make it, Whit - really good list this year. Thank you Steve and Joe for a great weekend, and thank you to my opponents, who remained chill and fun even when the dice were not on their side.

I like the current location - friendly staff, decent breakfast, and a lot of solid B+ food options in the immediate vicinity.

Also thanks to Peter Struijf, Chris Mazzei, Mattias Ronnblom and Andy Rodgers for making most of the scenarios that the players chose. I think this was the best year for scenarios. I will give the scenario statistics this weekend.
Thanks,

Big thanks from myself (and Chris, remotely) for the many interesting playings of Death To Fascism scenarios during the Albany tournament.

Congrats to JR for another well deserved victory and thanks to all my gracious and well-prepared opponents: Sean, Paul, Dan, Wan, Vic and Ketil.

Special mention (again this year) to Sean Deller for the absolutely epic game of Blitzkrieg! we played all day on Thursday. It was a total brain-fry and could not have been closer - I needed one more VP to win, my Stukas bombed nothing, and I had to win 2 out of the last 7 CC attempts (2 vs AFV, 5 for building control), of which I only managed to win one). One damn Frenchie survived an exploding Gucci Bag (30+3) and then defended his building against a crew, HS and 8-0 in the final CC. Just a fantastic game.

I played 3 new Friendly Fire scenarios (Flying Circus, Wiener Walzer and Amerikanskaya Suka), all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. A big congratulations to Mattias for this superb pack.

I got two great books in the raffle, both of which I will scour for ASL scenario options.....so one thing might lead to another.

No, I do NOT report to ROAR. I usually report to AREA, but I'm not sure that happened last year...

OK just a quick request to everyone who played Death To Fascism scenarios at Albany: Chris and I would really appreciate if you could enter the results on ROAR.

The Pack has seen a lot of play at Oktoberfest, on VASL and at Albany - but very few of those games have been recorded. It will certainly help TDs in future tournaments if we can quickly get 20+ playings of most scenarios recorded.

Thanks in advance.

My only regret was Boy Soldiers. I don't think that it is 6-0 unbalanced, but the Russian side is too fragile for a tournament. Blitzkrieg may be a little pro-French, but I think that it is pretty balanced at a high level of play.
Cheers,
Steve

The "split" is what? Is it as depicted on the scenario card 1st one Defender, 2nd one listed the Attacker?
