We are in round 4 of 6 after a lot of fun, big scenarios in the first three rounds.

Right now there are three matches of 3-0 players.

I'm playing Sean Deller in STL6 A Rising Tide as the brits (with no balance)

Mike Hershey is playing Michael Hastrep-Leth (German giving up one armor leader) in BFP-95 Obian Highway.

Phil Palmer (Russian with no balance) playing Bill Hayward in Obian Highway

There is a very sharp looking Tiger model as the trophy, courtesy of Joe Leoce.

Lots of awesome raffle prizes await this afternoon's drawing!

Good luck Paul. A Rising Tide as the Brits with no balance is a tough chore, but it can be done. Those guns need to bang hard and roll some KIAs.

That is a really SWEET looking trophy! Joe is quite the wizard of dioramas, well done.

This makes 2 years running that I am missing the Albany tourney due to living in FL <sigh> and I miss the fun and camaraderie.

Hope everyone has a great time!

We have our first THREE PLAYER mini going starting with J164-Aiding Local Constabulary

Rossi, Bishop and Chapman
Povey, Bartlett and Curtis
Crowe, Wiersma and Pagni (Andrea not happy he is playing with his country men)

Rossi being the main ball breaker as always...lots of laughs...

I really, really need AARs or opinions on this amazing action.

To have these 9 iconic characters (interpret this as you like) play our scenario is a true honour.

Of course, 6 of them will blame the Designers (Martin Hubley and myself) for their miserable losses.

Only 54 players at ALBANY this year.

Going into Round 5 we have:

Sidhu v Hayward both 4-0
Hastrup-Leth 4-0 v Palmer 3-1

Finals of the THREE PLAYER are Povey, Chapman and Crowe
They are playing Whom Gods Destroy from the Journal

Nice - will you guys ROAR it ?

Pre-Albany ROAR was Italian 0, South African 3 and Mutineer 1, so nice evening out.

Look forward to some AARs in the coming days.

I wish I could have been there competing, but alas, this year was not to be.

Good luck to all those in the running - could Michael become the first European to win at Albany? Time will tell...

Michael Hastrup-Leth and Paul Sidhu is slugging it out in Bedburg Bites for the tournament win. It is very close with a turn to go.

They are going into overtime. The room is almost empty and they are heading into the final half turn. Paul has some work to do ... but he has a lot of stuff that he can do it with. Hard to gauge who is more likely to succeed. This is how a tournament final should be.

I played in one of the 3 player matches of Aiding the Local Constabury and had the South Africans. Jim Povey had the Italians and Bill Curtis had the Mutineers.

This AAR will be primarily from the SA point of view as Bill and Jim duked it out over at the Arsenal which was a real blood bath with a bunch of mutineers eliminated for FTR.

Bill placed a reinforced platoon (perhaps 5 squads ?) with a ATR and a leader in the train station and stone building on the hill. The South Africans plan of attack was to clear this area and then move onto the other fight. This proved much more difficult than expected.

Turn 1 saw the SA sacrifice a CX half squad in CC against two concealed mutineers in the stone building. I felt this was acceptable to gain the Intel.

T2 I placed a couple of squads in Opp Fire and bounced the concealment off of those guys but only pinned a squad on the 12 up 3. I advanced the SA leader along with a concealed squad and two other squads into that same building. I won the ambush but failed on the 2-1 down 2 attack. In the next player turn the SA decided to split the CC up and eliminated a mutineer HS. This turned out to be a bad decision as the roll this time was low enough to kill everyone had I taken that attack. In the next player turn the CC turned ugly for the SA - Bill took a 20FP +3 into the Melee with a 1MC result. His unit pinned but the -1 leader and all 3 squads on the SA side failed their MC and broke. In the ensuing CC phase the mutineers took out two of the 3 squads and the leader with a 1-6 down 4 attack.

The SA's regrouped and put some Smoke into the Train station from the Carrier with the MTR in T3 prep fire. The stone building and the train station eventually fell but it was too little too late for me as I ended up with only those 5 VPs.

As I mentioned previously the other side of the board was a blood bath and Jim as the Italians ended up with all of the VP in that area. Bill had one stone building away from the arsenal but that was taken by the Italians on the last turn.

All in all an enjoyable scenario and two great opponents.

Finally, thanks again to Steve and Gary for all of the hard work putting together the tourney. This was only my second year coming to Albany and once again I had an outstanding time. I understand this is Gary's last year running the event (13 years is a long time) and he will be missed.

Congratulations to Paul Sn J.

With hit by bedburg bites, you should rejoice because it's such a great scenario.
