AAR The Last Exocet ANW

The Last Exocet ( played from ARG side)

Today , the Hermes carrier was heavy damaged
NE Port Stanley ( around 180nm) and Two super Etendards and four A 4P Skyhawks are
assigned to attack the remaining carrier; Invincible.
But this isn´t going to be an easy task, only one Exocet AM39 is available on one
of the Etendards...
So I launch from Rio Grande and go right to the point where Hermes was
seen last time,two KC130 are ordered to follow my fight planes in case they need
some refueling to finish their task.

When I get near ref point, some bogies are detected, but the very best come some
5 minutes later:a nice TF is waiting for my planes; a DDG Type 42,DDG Exeter,
LPD Intrepid,DDG Clamorgan and - as you may have guessed - the Invincible
in the middle of all those tons of iron.

The fun was beginning, I order 3 planes to take active emissions but the
Super Etendard with the Exocet flies at full speed directly towards the
carrier at low altitude.Sea darts are occupied of active Skyhawks and I
can take that carrier with the only weapon I had and she "appears damaged,on fire"
To tell the true,I tought I was going to be toasted, but run across enemy fire and
could return home with a nice job done.:smoke:

Congratulations on your victory. A very good tactic to distract the defences with your other planes while you plunge the dagger in from low level. Sometimes, sacrifices must be made to ensure victory.

I believe in this scen this may be the only tactic to use, and when I discovered that TF waiting for my plane I really thought I was already dead but could damage my objective at last.
In Harpoon, like in real war,sometimes you have to choose between die or kill.
