Shark´s Teeth (playing ROK side)
I am in command of FFG Duncan and FFL Kyong Ju and must escort a 8 ships
convoy to the port of Kansong,
some 50 miles away but I have to get there by 16.00 and ordered not
to initiate any form of hostile action unless my ships are fired upon,
also Limited Emissions are recommended.
So I head NE with the convoy some 15 miles behind of my TF, they only can
speed up to 9 knots then I slow down to 5 knots to make distance between us some
3 miles.
Launching a Seasprite from FFG Duncan to make a patrol zone in formation editor
has no effect, soon I am warned of a torp contact and a goblin contact
5 miles north of my TF,so I speed up at flank speed and could escape from a
sure ( and early) death.Inmediately launch a pair of torps in BOL attack
but got no luck,it is time to send the Seasprite to search for that sub.
Five minutes later a pair of torps are detected again but they seem to be
really far ( 15 nm perhaps) and they really did not worry me.
Meanwhile the Seasprite has no results searching the sub, loitering at
vlow altitude in different points has no contact return, where the hell is that
dammed sub ??
Some 8 or 10 skunks contacts appear, they are classified as neutrals by their
emissions, and the path to the port is now clear,no notice of any sub or hostile
ship was received. At 12.00 my TF arrives at Kansong port and I meet VC.:smoke:
To tell the true, this seemed to be a more difficult task, I had only 2
enemy contacts along the entire game, but a relaxed duty is really good
from time to time.
Thanks Herman for this enjoyable scen.
