Now I need to do a rest/refit and somehow save all the info down so I can start a bran new VASL game.

I was for these two missions using the same save (but saving it over and over) but some how the Casualty Bin is all hosed up, and not sure why or how to fix it:

It will auto increment the French over and over and over again, but the Germans are fine. I also tried resetting it but it still does not work right.

I had a problem with my bin as follows: There was an 8-0 German leader who hardened to 8-1. I killed him and put him in the bin, but it kept his original counter value of 1 when it should have been 2 with his new -1 rating. To fix it I just deleted the SMC in the bin and replaced it with a new 8-1 counter which was worth 2 CVPs

Mission 3:
“The green hell of Bois d’Inor.” Côté de Châtillon, France.
1 June 1940

At the beginning of June, the 71st I.D. took over part of the neighbouring 58th I.D. sector, including the towns of Vaux-lés-Mouzon , St. Hubert and Autréville-St. Lambert. The 194th (replaced on the north bank of the Chiers by the tired 191st after their assault on La Ferte) deployed between the Cote de Chatillon and the eastern edge of Bois d’Inor, to secure it and to expand the defensive line further. The French responded with increasing, harassing artillery fire forcing the 194th to construct defensive positions at night while parts of the 6th French Division (comprised of Senegalese and Foreign Legionnaire’s) attacked, using the forests as cover.

Type: Enemy Offensive (9)
Mapboard Selection: A8e for two easternmost boards. Westernmost board is rolled on A9 (Rural). [see below]
Weather: EC are Moderate with No Wind at start.
FRIENDLY: I./194th IR (ELR 3). FBE East.
ENEMY: France (ELR 3). EBE West

Prior to the start of this mission I was able to do a rest and refit.

The results of that was as follows.

Lt. Bruckner was promoted to Haptmann (10-2), Sgt. Kölzig was promoted to Staff Sgt. (9-1) and Cpl. Lazov was promoted to Sgt. (8-0). Note I am using the personal leader rules from Annual 95 and not the SASL promotion rules for Lazov.

I also had two squads BH (seasoning) and I choose to season up the two 2nd Line squads to 1st Line.

This is what my company now looks like:
13132
* Squad K+ gets the + symbol to reflect gaining an Iron Cross 1st Class in destroying the H39(L) tank last mission.

And this mission is a 'defend' and this is what I have to defend:
13133

My understanding of the rules so far is that I'll be facing 53 enemy S? from the EBE (i.e. the west).

Need to plan my defense.

This should be fun.

I do need some help or clarification with the HASL CG MSR rules 1 and 2:

1. There is a -2 drm to ENEMY AC# determination.

Does this apply to each activation check or just for the generating of the AC#?

2. Provided there is no EN FFE on board, at the start of each EN PFPh make DR. If a 31, 32 or 33 is rolled, conduct that EN RE. EXC each OBA Type is determined with a dr [1-3=70+, 4-5=80+, 6=120+] – all are of the same type for that RE. Each such Artillery Strike is removed after conducting its FFE2 attack.

Is this a one time deal?
Or after each FFE2 is removed and the there is no FFE on board roll again for RE?
Lastly, if I roll for EN RE and do not get a 31, 32, or 33 just ignore this MSR and use what was rolled?

Sorry for my confusion.

1. I believe that is applied at the very start to determine AC

2. I would say yes it is removed, then continue rolling in future turns

Ahriman has similar MSRs for the RCR campaign, but check with him to confirm

Apologies for the confusion. Chappy has it right.

So to clarify MSR 2, every PFPh make an EN RE roll if there is no existing EN FFE1/2 counter onboard and see if you get 31-33. If you do, conduct that particular Artillery Strike RE, if you don't then no artillery strike happens that turn. If you roll for an Artillery Strike, you carry out the FFE1 attack, then flip it over. You then take off the FFE2 counter once you conduct the attack in the subsequent EN PFPh. The following EN PFPh - since the FFE counter is not on the board - make another roll on the EN RE table to see if you get a 31-33.

Basically if your AC determination and MSR2 die rolls are crap you could be in for a tough fight :)

Personally I thought the first mission was a tough fight. I rolled a lot of 8-1 French leaders and quite a few Elite squads, I lost the scenario, but had great fun. The second mission was not as hard until the H39(L) showed up and I lucked out and got the two StuG IIIB, one of which per RE immobilized, the other got some use. It was 1st Line Squad K that killed the tank. After Action Review I realized I was supposed to re-roll for any AFV. So I have that for this one. I am not too afraid of armor, as long as I got a Gun or tank to kill it with.

You have done a pretty spectacular job in creating this HASL SASL CG.

The only oddities I have ran across is I have three board selection methods to choose from. The original (in my eRule book someone has already expanded the maps to 51), the one I got from GS which is pretty good but I dont' think has all the newer maps, it has quite a lot and then the one that AT created. The only issue I have with AT's is it uses the TRW and SCW boards in VASL and I am not too fond of the ones I tried to use thus far.

I may make my own board selector table, I do like using the 11-66 results.

Anyway, having a hoot and will get some more turns done when I can.

Thanks for all the comments, helps and those that are just reading it, hope your enjoying it as much as me.
