A Multiple ROF Gun not marked with a First, Final, Intensive, or No Fire counter fires during the DFPh and exhausts its normal ROF.

(1) The Gun will be marked with a Final Fire counter. Correct?

The player want to attack with the same Gun again using Intensive Fire.

(2) Is that allowed?

I ask, because the C5.6 errata says: "Intensive Fire ... can be used only if the crew of the Gun is not pinned, shocked, stunned, and not marked with a Final/Intensive Fire counter." So, according to the rule the Final Fire counter would forbid to use Intensive Fire. That means that this Gun would be able to use Intensive Fire during the PFPh in the same situation, but not in die DFPh.

Correct.

No. As per A8.41, only a "weapon marked with a First Fire counter and capable of Intensive Fire (C5.6) or Sustained Fire (9.3) may use such for one additional attack during Final Fire only vs adjacent or same-hex targets."

I ask, because the C5.6 errata says: "Intensive Fire ... can be used only if the crew of the Gun is not pinned, shocked, stunned, and not marked with a Final/Intensive Fire counter." That means that this Gun would be able to use Intensive Fire during the PFPh in the same situation, but not in die DFPh.
The C 5.6 errata is in line with A8.41, which prohibits the use of Intensive Fire except where a weapon is a) marked with a First Fire counter, and b) is capable of firing at an adjacent or same-hex target.

In other words, the moment a weapon fires/exhausts its ROF in the DFPh, it is marked with a Final Fire counter. Once marked, it is no longer entitled to any additional attacks during that phase, including IF.

Keep in mind that during DFF (i.e., the MPh), a Gun marked with a Final Fire counter could use IF. Better not to think of the DFPh being the same as the PFPh. When taken together, DFF and DFPh offer more opportunities to fire than the PFPh. Moreover, in DFF it is possible for a Gun to use IF a second time (C5.64).

A8.41 does not really prohibit that, IMO - it list one condition - but that does not mean any other conditions are NA. The rule was changed/clarified (depending on one's point of view) in ASL Journal 7.

Slightly off-topic, why are there no purple IF counters (that is, the same color of First/Final Fire counters)? It always bugs me to use the orange ones during defensive fire...?

Once you have Intensive fired as defensve fire you're marked with a final fire counter anyway which has the same effect. It would only be applicable for the time you placed the counter if there was one and replaced with a Final Fire counter at the end of its fire.

If the Gun uses First Fire during the enemy MPh and exhausts its normal ROF, the Gun is allowed to use IF vs a target not adjacent or same—hex. Correct?

A8.41:
"..Any weapon marked with a First Fire counter and capable of Intensive Fire (C5.6) or Sustained Fire (9.3) may use such for one additional attack during Final Fire only vs adjacent or same-hex targets. "

But using Intensive Fire during the MPh has no such restrictions - any target within range is ok.

Correct, it can fire again during the enemy's MPh as Klas indicated but not during the DFPh, then it is restricted by range.

An IFE weapon uses sustained fire and all its restrictions. But that weapon can use intensive fire during the MPh without the SFF restrictions.
