Ever think you need to be armed to control a hex or bridge?

As for the Rules, we have 26.11 which says armed Good Order Infantry MMC needed, 26.13/26.131 which just says Good Order Infantry MMC needed, and further on in 26.15 which says armed Good Order Infantry MMC again by implication.

Any Q&As to clear this up? Any light to shed on the subject(or heat)?

ron, ron, ron...

Yes, you have to be be armed to gain control.

V2 rule book makes it clear (IMO) by stating in the first paragraph (NRBH, so I can' t quote it, but its A25.somthing...) stating in the first paragraph that gaining control requires an armed MMC.

Ah, nuts. I'll just wait till I am home with my rule book and answer. :p

26.13 sure reads to me like you don't need to be an armed mmc to gain control Sam.
26.11 does state you need to be armed.

My guess is 26.11 might take priority and 26.13 was lax in its wording. Bottom line I think a clarification is warranted.

A26.11 is the general rule, and requires an armed, GO MMC.

A26.13 & .14 lists adds some details, but the general A26.11 requirement still applies.

So the lack of "armed" in A26.13 and A26.131 is nothing but sloppy wording, but I think the intention is quite clear. And I can guarantee the intention, since it was mostly I who wrote this, so I'll guess I have to take blame for the sloppyness as well :(

A 26.13 needs to be corrected - so everyone can see immdiately that only armed units can gain control.

But - also pointig to my A 20.551 thread - can an unarmed unit posessing a LMG gain control?
What if the LMG is malfunctioned?
