A25.222 and E1.54: does a Commissar remove the DM status at night?

A25.222 has no exception for for Night. E1.54 has no exception for Commissars.

TIA

What Commissars do is the units they rally ignore their DM status for this purpose, and what Night adds is that units don't automatically lose DM status when they should.

Normally, when a Commissar tries to rally a unit, a Rally DR <= the unit's printed Morale will rally them; so I can't think of a situation where a unit fails to rally (with Commissar help), but loses their DM. If the rally attempt fails to rally, it should mean the DR was > the printed Morale (even a wounded Commissar would only have a +1 Leadership, and this would just compensate for the Commissar's +1ML)

Yes, I forgot Commissars allow one to ignore DM, not to specifically remove it.

Well since its the end of the rally phase...its kinda the same effect. Of course, it allows you to keep DM in OG and Rout after the Commissar kills half the guys when you miss your roll.
