Glad to see you're getting some traction on it. For those that don't recall, here is the map covering the area Jan is talking about.
For those lobbying for "Shadow of Suribachi", the foot of the mountain is about 95 hexes away to the southwest of the western map edge..

This map has got it slightly wrong. The area covered is directly South to North. It is not SE to NW. The rectangle should be upright and not slanted to one side.

Nice! When does it ship? :)

Kind of off-topic, but I see a good job you did with the tonalities. One suggestion: you could write down on the edges a small indication of the level of each color. That will provide an easy visual aid.

14 levels - impressive!
For a module name, how about "Into the Meat Grinder"?

Perhaps it should be entitled simply, 'Iwo Jima'.
The name requires no explanation or silly, campy reinterpretation.
Unless you wanted to do other HASL around other parts of the island, like Suribachi or the landing beaches.

Imagine if Red Barricades was just called "Stalingrad." Kinda makes VOTG and Red October seem beside the point.

The levels are marked on map.

What do the circles indicate? View attachment 13557
The circle represents the centre of a passageway complex. The passageway complex can be activated by the spending of FPP. The circles are every four hexes but the Japanese is limited as to how many he can activate. It is up to him where his passageways will go.

BTW Jan, can you please post a link to your AARs of this?
I checked the AAR section and they are no longer there. Must have been deleted. It was a few years ago now.

Looks like just plain torture for the Marines, digging out the Japanese, dug-in in that moon-scape, good thing they are 1945 Marines with plenty of SWs with (N)OBA and AFV support as needed. At least when I'm playtesting on Bougainville there is usually some cover but Iwo Jima will have you looking for your smoke grenades for sure. But I'm a PTO glutton for punishment so sign me up, Vic.
