I'm looking for clarification of these two rules, am I interpreting these
correctly?

SNIPER CASE
A Sniper is activated and ends up in a hex containing
a 447 possessing an LMG and a 447 possessing nothing under a ?
and a 467 and 7-0 unconcealed.

I roll 3 dice.
1 for the ? stack
1 for the 7-0
1 for the 467
correct?

Now suppose the concealed stack is selected.
I roll 2 dice as per A14.23 (which is the exception)
1 for the 447
1 for the 447
correct?

NORMAL CASE
I make a 20FP attack against the hex. I roll a Final DR of
3 (on the IFT, not IIFT) resulting* in a 1KIA vs the unconcealed and a K/3 against the concealed.
First I resolve the KIA Random Selection by rolling 2 dice

Now I resolve the K/3 Random Selection and roll 3 dice
1 for the 447
1 for the LMG
1 for the 447 possessing the LMG

CONCLUSION
So the normal case (not a Sniper) is that in a concealed stack
all counters are considered candidates for Random Selection (in the
case a SW is chosen, it's possessing MMC/SMC is selected). In the
case of a Sniper attack only the UNITS (not their SW) are elligible
for Random Selection.

*results: 20FP roll 3 gets 1KIA vs concealed 1/2 FP (10) goes to 8 FP
DR 3 gets K/3
units

I believe you are correct. The differences between normal random selection and random selection for concealed units have always made me scratch my head. Why did they do it differently? I have always assumed that two different design teams wrote what they thought was the same rule.

I agree with everything except the K/3 random roll is only between the two squads, one with a lmg, one without. You listed the lmg separately.

I agree with MajorDomo. In your second case, the LMG is not part of the RS. SW are only part of the RS roll if the stack is concealed and its a RS roll for selecting a unit to be revealed.

In this case you remove the "?" due to the K/3 result, and roll RS for the two units normally.
