The 7th Annual Hallowed Ground ASL Tournament will be held starting Thursday, July 18th and conclude Sunday morning, July 21st.

This tournament, initially started by John Dober and graciously continued by his widow, Christine Fallin Dober, is held annually every July at their residence in Gettysburg.

There is limited rooming available at Christine's home with preference to past attendees as well as a bed and breakfast and the 1863 hotel right next door. There are also various hotels in and around Gettysburg within a few minutes' drive. The are many options for food and drink within walking distance, battlefield tours, and souvenir and curiosity shops.

It is my honor to officiate this tournament in memory of our dear friend John and hope to see all the familiar faces as well as any new ones. John and Christine's home boasts a large game room with great lighting in a comfortable setting. There will be extra counter sets and maps, for those traveling light, copies of the scenarios per round, and copies of any special rules (ex. TOTR, HazMo, SF) available for ease of play. I have attached the scenario list by round for those who wish to brush up, and the rules and regulations for the tourney. Any questions or inquiries can be directed to me or Ed Akehurst via Facebook or Gamesquad.

Hope to see you there. Dave

Big ASL shoutout to Chuck Hammond and HazMo Publishing for providing 2 fantastic prizes to be awarded at the tourney. As you can see from the scenario list, there is one HazMo scenario listed in each round, so the first prize will go to the player who records the most HazMo playings during the tournament. 5 plays is a winner. The other prize is yet to be determined. If you have that weekend free, this is a great opportunity to get in five quality games in a comfortable atmosphere. Ken Mioduski will again be providing the annual souvenir cocktail glasses to all attendees featuring his inspirational designs. Come get in on the fun.

Will not make it this year, unfortunately. Will be testing the strength of the U.S. Dollar in Europe.

I'm thinking about driving up this year. Are you still looking for a roomie?
Fort! Please let us know for certain if you are coming as we may be able to put you up at John's house if you do not mind roommates.

Other prizes include a brand new copy of Twilight of the Reich as well as Winter Offensive 2024 pack. There are always plaques as well!

I don't mind roomies. Let me know if there's a space, the hotels all seemed very limited on rooms when I called.

If I can get a spot to crash, I will head up.

You never forget that amine smell from the oxygen scrubbers...along with the fried food from the galley.
I originally was mystified by the two-valve system in the head for the shitter. Fortunately for the two days I was on Sturgeon I got the sequencing right.

I don't know about anyone else but Ken, Ed and I will be staying at the house as well as my "front" room will be shared by Ken Daughty. Other than you, I can think of at least 2 others who usually stay at the house.
