Small Stack scenario:

If you withdraw from CC there is no SN attack:

The infantry were held in melee though with the tank - so they could not withdraw. Just to sit there and freeze the tank?

Hope that helps. Hope it's right :)

I played for the honour of Rome against Pete Phillipps on the Sunday. He called it pro Italian. He lost playing the Russians. I got lucky and advance fire broke his mortar crew, the other mortar could not hit a barn door, the Italians passed their MC's and won the CC's. Amazing how games can go differently...........

At turn 4 all he had left of his original on board force was one squad and one crew.

Many thanks for another fun episode 👍

For the second scenario, R1 and S7 say put a TD here. Hull down positions should almost always be taken.
You need a turret hit to have a chance take out a IS2m (23TK -18AF =5). Deliberate Immobilization might be better.
I might put the other TD in a stone building and conceal it. That would make it much harder to hit.

Another very enjoyable episode! I've won as the Italians in the last scenario, but I would agree it's
tough on the Italians.

AdrianE has a couple of good points. I think, when I played it, I hid in buildings as well.

Melee infantry may withdraw (if not pinned, or berserk, or...I'm sure there's something else).

For the sN vs withdrawing infantry, I don't think it attacks at all. IIRC, sN can only be used after the vehicle
(or its escort) has been attacked in CC. Therefore, I don't think the -2 applies vs the withdrawing infantry
(-4 if broken) unless an attack takes place.

PS: For the record, I've shown up at Double One every year from 2011-2019. I believe the headmaster's
records show absences on the part of both of you in several of those years! :)

Very enjoyable to watch - like Top Gear without Jeremy Clarkeson in a lot of ways.

Nice to see Martin winning a few too.

I played Small Stack and a Schnapps a couple of times. Gotta admit I was shouting at the screen when I saw you not converting your small? into big? and concealing the Hetzers in buildings (+3 TEM+1 small +2 concealed ) - makes them safe until you want to fire with Russians BU and no acq.
I won as Russians both times even though second time I cocked up the opening. Seems hard on the Germans.

Played Mark Blackmore at l 'onore di Roma and it was worth it just to see the look of disgust on his face at having to attack with 6 morale Italians ( Lax, no deployment too!). I lost on last CC needing 7 or less, so the Italians can win - we had a really tight fun game.

Hope you can make it to Blackpool in November.

Fun little scenario that i played recently. Some forget the PSK, which makes a difference. Challenging for the Germans but not hopeless i would say.
