The Canadian ASL Association (CASLA) will begin its virtual Annual General Meeting in August. Proposals to host are considered only for Canadian cities, but anybody can vote on any proposals tabled by sending $10 to Mike Rodgers to join CASLA before then. If no tabled proposals are accepted, CASLO 2013 automatically defaults back to Winnipeg.

We currently have 26 members.
Winnipeg: 8.
Ottawa/Eastern Ontario/Montreal: 8.
Toronto/Southern Ontario: 6.
Calgary: 1.
BC: 1.
Western USA: 1.
Eastern USA: 1.
(I'm not exactly sure where two members live, but they're somewhere in Ontario, so I split them.)

I'm on record as saying that CASLO should alternate east/west, but I wouldn't be unhappy to see CASLO in the west again next year. That way the mnemonic could become "East in Even years..."

Plus, my charming wife has pointed out that according to the CFL (the Canadian Football League, for you foreigners) Winnipeg can be considered both east and west - it's a precedent.

Maybe we could have the event on the corner of Portage and Main - The East/West Geographical centre of Canada. Then it truly would be both East and West

Got no problem with one or t'other. Out west AB or BC will do. :D
Maybe even Saskatoon, if someone can get something organized there.

There was a time when Electric Avenue would have been a cool place to run a tourney, or a least the post-game show. ;)
How about using Calgary U? Brent P. ran a couple tourneys there in the late 80s.

It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, and I'm glad you enjoyed the experience. It's a great group of competitors and you acquitted yourself very well.

See you next CASLO.
