My 2 cents is
30 mins on how scary tournements can be if you dont know your rules! and stuff it!

Rob:oops:
It's completely over-stated - there is no issue in any tournament that reasonable people won't navigate through without a problem. Don't ever let something like this put you off!

Great podcast episode. Really enjoying it. My game with Barks genuinely was the best scenario I had played in a long, long time. We were very noisily laughing through most of it. He didn't even mention the funniest event which was when he opted to throw a satchel charge into one of my hexes with his half squad. Rolled high on the attack versus me (of course) for no effect. Rolled low(ish) for the self-attack for a MC. Rolled 6 6 on the MC. Absolute hilarity ensued.

I have a story about kibitzing of sorts. I played a UK player in a tournament many years back. I will not mention him as he is still on the tournament scene (you know who you are :):)). He was attacking me with some earlier war T34s. Got to the advance fire phase and "fired for acquisition". So, I announce, "you can't mate - they're CE". "Oh, says he. I forgot to button up...do you mind if I do?". "No problem", said I...and away he went...

Fast forward to the next round. I wander over to his game. The EXACT situation arises right as I'm stood at the table. No word of a lie, or exaggeration... Only this time it's his opponent who has forgotten to BU his T34s. So his oppo said "do you mind?" or words to such affect. This guy, God love him, responds with "sorry. It's a tournament game, so I'm afraid I can't allow it".

I stared at the bloke. Contorted me face in a million different directions to say "you're kidding right?" without actually of course being able to say anything. He just shrugged and moved on. I've never wanted to kibutz as much in my life. Couldn't say squat (of course).

Thanks for the mentions Dave. Infiltration to victory - the best sort of win ! :D The scenario we played was Buitenzorg Blitz.
