Did you catch the news story about the paratrooper who celebrated his 100th birthday by a parachute jump (last couple of days, I forgot which day)?

Here’s a strange one, Louis Curdes:
One of three US pilots to shoot down at least one plane from each of the main axis countries. Curdes then intentionally shot down a US C-47 that happened to have his then girlfriend and future wife onboard. It all worked out and he got a medal and a credit for a US kill. How the hell can that happen? You got some ‘splain’in to do Curdes:

Here is a fine letter. 20 B-24s and their crews had to make an emergency weather related landing at the Tuskegee airman’s base in Italy and they stayed around for awhile till the weather cleared. The Tuskegee airmen helped out the stranded crews and each B-24 found a copy of this letter on their planes as they left:
