Some "I Suck" counters (in all nationality colors except Finnish Grey, of course) to counter-shame those units that deserve it.
This would be good for that annoying unit that breaks on the first turn and doesn't rally until the final turn, when the battle has moved far away and the unit can't do anything useful.

Better looking NO Smoke/Heat/WP et al, with artwork--as opposed to the green on white prior versions.

5/8 Reminder markers next to turn track or on board:
  • ground snow/deep snow
  • winter camouflage: axis/allied - infantry / armor
  • no quarter axis/allied
  • MOL axis/allies
  • PF 43/44/45 models for Germans
  • ATM, gammon bombs 💣
  • mud, soft ground
  • mist, fog
  • terrain chances (handful to be placed on terrain as reminders): grain/ploved fields/open ground, out of season orchard, streams dry/shallow/deep, pine wood, light woods, cactus patch, olive Grove, broken terrain, steppe, cactus hedge, vineyards, PTO light/dense jungle (like in B&J), Rice paddies drained/in-season/irrigated, swamp
Some of the counters could have rules referenses/info on the back of the counters.

A combo turret/Motion is IMHO a bad idea: you'll have to replace it if the Motion status changes (which typically occurs every turn).

The turret/Armor leader combo is more useful since the presence of the AL won't change (and the turret counter might be removed when aligned with the VCA but you might also want to leave it on).

But, globally, I'm not sure we need more counters. They look neat but end up taking space in whatever your current counter storage system is (which you have to update to take them into account).
One side is turret BU, other side is turret BU with motion.

But then you don't get a CE side, you'd need another collection of CE/CE-Motion. Not a real progress. We need four-sided counters.
Hard to print on a tetrahedron, better just to go for cubes.

Note that Rick is 99% complete with this counter sheet. Many recommendations taken into account and implemented. Thank you!
A counter sheet can get filled up quicker than you think.

We're getting close to having programmable counters.

We're not quite there though, and would need 1/2 inch counters (or larger maps, by a factor of 3). Plus, you'd want e-ink counters, or you'd have to give each of them its own power supply.

But I can see it: a whole lot of reprogrammable e-ink counters you'd quickly plug into a base that would change the display. How many of them would you need for a mid-sized scenario? (I'm not sure how small e-ink displays can get... nor what the cost per item would turn out to be - keeping in mind you'd only need as many copies as counters you need on the board at a given time)

OK, maybe not for ASL, too many of us would be lost if counters were to become unclippable.

MC is probably not the product to stick 'em in, but at some point I'd love for somebody to print up some proper rice paddy status counters (irrigated, in-season, drained) so I can stop using my home made ones. And for the love of god no more boutique turn counters. Everytime I see these, or run out of actually useful counters (flame counters, mines, etc) that could have been printed in their place, I see red.

Great idea, but the rice paddy status should ideally be 5/8" counters to match the others, no? Are there any other EC-type counters we're missing?

So I guess you aren't interested in the complete set of German (and separate Waffen SS - in blue and black of course) divisional turn counters versus all applicable nationalities that I'm working on? :p;)
