    GRENADIER´23: ASL Tournament, Germany, 02.11.-05.11.2023

Fantastic location, and so easy to reach from the airport. I once said NO to a lifetime job in Bochum for a more insecure job in Denmark, but my NO was for family reasons and not because I have anything against the Ruhr District. I have probably been in the area every second year or so since my...

Ruhr! I love it. Good Airport (Düsseldorf). Good local transportation. Hearty food. never been to Gelsenkirchen, though, exciting.

    Control Window "Disappears"

Thanks for your help, in particular "apbills". I am glad I am only a FORMER IT specialist, as it would be embarrassing to have to admit an "Error 40" otherwise. 🆒

    Control Window "Disappears"

Due to a threatening disk crash I had to switch to another computer. Still "oldish", Windows 10. I reinstalled VASSAL 6.6.5 and VASL 3.6.9 from scratch, hereafter copied over same extensions and maps. As before I have two monitors with the "map" window on one and all other windows on the other...

Please note Buser's question to HazMo28 in the Rules section of Gamesquad. I am sure we are not the only two confused by the Victory Conditions.

Albany Tournament December 1st-4th All TD Communications Here

And www.aslscenarioarchive.com is as uninformed as you and I 😢. Looking forward to knowing what "Buda", "Prague" and "ECZ" stand for. "ecz" used to be the Gamesquad handle for Enrico Catanzaro of Italy, but I have not played or heard from him since the old Player's Rating fizzled out. Would be...

ASL Scandinavian Open, March 1-5 2023

I hope for better luck in 2024, but I will of course select the local event over the "overseas" (North Sea) event

Grenadier 22 - will it happen?

Michael Koch has told me in an email conversation that there will be no Grenadier this year (sob). Maybe next year. New venue is needed.

ASL Scandinavian Open, March 1-5 2023

Joe - good point. This particular mess is not the fault of SAS I believe, but non-Scandinavian potential travelers to ASL Scandinavian Open should be aware that SAS has filed for Chapter 11 and although the risk of an immediate shut-down is minimal, the next 6-12 months will be very...

ASL Scandinavian Open, March 1-5 2023

Rich, I have given up complaining about this to the TD’s. They don’t care on either side of the North Sea (sorry to be so blunt about it, but there are 12 weekends in the first quarter to choose from and no other European tournaments during that period). I used to ask them each year to please...

Martin Mayers - are you out there?

Now what did the old man do? For once I was not the other party in any debate with Martin 😎😎😎.

    COVID

Swedes tend to compare themselves to Danes, Norwegians and maybe even Finns, rather than “real foreigners”, so for many Swedes the relatively low number of excess deaths is still considered a relative failure. Luckily we have relatively few anti-vaxxers, so we should be ok going forward.

    COVID

There are two reasons that people should choose to get vaccinated. The selfish reason to avoid getting covid yourself. The socially responsible reason that it will shorten the period until a society has built up herd immunity, and thus shielding vulnerable people who for medical reasons cannot...

    Supporting Fire 2021 November 19-21

Please reduce the number of preregistered players by 21 by removing me. It is of course up to individual event organizers also in Sweden to set requirements on who may attend an event. It is your choice NOT to require that attendees are vaccinated or show a recent test result. It is my choice...
