It makes me wonder if the Germans should aim for a victory building/hex further away from their entry area right from the start. The buildings/hexes nearest to the German entry area will be far more fortified than those further away.

Cannot the German switch his focus on another one of the 4 buildings/hexes that he needs to capture?
