Newer counters have worse ink/paper and wear faster?

I am doing the massive project of reorganizing my counters after roughly 30 years of just throwing counters in and noticed the back side of my 'newer/rounded' Russian 5-2-7 squads show more wear (white around the edges) than my older ones that were clipped with a nail clipper. The nail clipper...

VASL 6.7 might require a font download for Mac users

Helvetica is not installed on my Linux distribution, Fedora nor it it installed on my Steam Deck (Steam OS).

    Map scanning tips

Thanks much gentlemen. I did some scans and noticed some of the issues you mentioned. You guys saved me from a lot of re-work on them. This has been a good exercise as I have found my maps after realizing they were misplaced. One of the times it is good to have a small place with little crap...

    Map scanning tips

Any tips for scanning these in? I have basically grown tired of the poor quality of public copy machines and broke down and bought a 11x17 printer. I blow the maps up and laminate them similar to others. I am guessing it is a bit of work getting things right the first time, but my results...

    VASSAL and VPN

I use NordVPN and sometimes combine that with ProtonVPN. Have not seen issues even using post-quantum encryption. Linux/Windows.

Small issue with Russian 4-2-6 squads.

426 should generally BH to 527 barring SSR or CG rules or early war stuff. (1940 or earlier, which is few scenarios)

    VASL6.7.1-beta2 is now available

Looking good! The info counters will take some getting used to, but I think in the end I will be quite happy with this update. Very minor comment for me and my 55 year old eyes is that the text appears a bit small, but is still clearer than the larger, but fuzzier text of the 6.6.10 counters...

    LFT Arid Rules: Grain question

What is the end result of the above? Certainly it costs infantry 1.5MF to go into these grain fields. Is it open ground? Can FFMO apply? Is it still concealment terrain? Does it hinder fire/LOS? It just seems strange to put the 'movement purposes' out there.

    VASL6.7.0 is released

I am using 6.7.x on new games if my opponent wants. Otherwise 6.6.10 or similar for both is better. Gonna be fantastic when this works however! Very much looking forward to the future VASL stuff.

VASL 6.7.0 Beta6 is now available

This looks like great work, but I had a few issues with older versions and the beta6. Basically guns and vehicles may or may not remain and some MMC counters had difficulties. Half-squads became full squads. Looking forward to the new release, but for now I will keep with 6.6.10 if my...

VASL 6.7.0 Beta6 is now available

Certainly some herculean efforts going on to do this. Thanks much for all the work behind the scenes.

    Multi-Computer

I have been getting lazy with that (playing with roadblocks and kind of forgot to reveal them for a bit), but the functionality works quite well for the most part. Nice work gentlemen.

    Human wave flag?

CX for horses (gallop) being incorporated into the horse counter would also be nice, similar to skis.

    Human wave flag?

This might be asking a lot, but could there be a human wave/banzai 'flag', similar to fanatic? It would really be asking a lot if you could cycle the stages and keep track of being at range too but it could end up being really slick too.

    Microsoft declares it's shutting down Skype . . .

Everyone has their pick I suppose, but I think Discord's noise cancellation is quite good at getting rid of keyboard clicks and such. Nothing is perfect, but I think it does a really good job. For privacy, Signal is the best that I know of.

    Enable Red CA Indicator

I think by A12.2, the opponent technically knows the CA of guns and VCA of vehicles. Only a few things can be kept hidden from him by A12.2. Once revealed, a gun should probably be forced to commit openly to a CA and vehicles to their TCA/CA/etc. A12.2. ....... The BU, CE, TCA, HD status of a...

    VASL-6.7.0-beta3 is released

Certainly workable on my machine. Fedora, openjdk 23.0.1. The one at the bottom does have a slight issue with the white dot and the BMG covering the MA "L". Pretty fringe case I think but perhaps there are others.

    VASL-6.7.0-beta3 is released

I think this may happen with the hideable perimiter/control markers which sort of HIP to both players.

A HIP gun goes into/out of AA mode but does not fire

I assume the 16 hexes and enemy units assumes they have an LOS to the gun, but thanks!
