    ITT Critical hit procedure

The C3.7 CRITICAL HIT player aid will probably be quite useful. It's next to the C3 TO HIT TABLE on the original chart. It distinguishes between Vehicle Target Type and Infantry Target Type.

    Can a Wall be rubbled?

I am talking simply about the world of the ASLRB. Notwithstanding word usage and "common sense", within the construct of the ASLRB, what is there that suggests a Wall can be rubbled? There is nothing in "Breach" either. And sure, I am approaching this from a pedantic point of view. This is...

    Can a Wall be rubbled?

This is a legitimate query on my part: Why would anyone even think that a Wall could be Rubbled? Put another way: is there anything stated in the rules that causes some ambiguity? Even a cursory glance makes it clear: "B24.1 Rubble represents the shattered remnants of a building ... " And then...

    Official Scenarios

Hell, I have half a mind to just go through my collection and hand-count them all. These numbers all seem a little off to me, except perhaps afgur's. Wouldn't take all that long, relatively, I could easily multi-task it. Easier'n clippin' counters. Like probably many people, I kept my own...

Thanks for this. Those first four points should be canonized. Great reminders.

    Where are these boards from?

Yes! I own and have studied one of his books, Envisioning Information. I pulled it off the shelf and have it right in front of me. In my opinion, ASL maps are the best in the business at what they do. Game maps which attempt to portray the board as a satellite photo are simply awful.

    Where are these boards from?

Completely agree. I do not see these as an improvement. The shadows are jarring. ASL board art are masterworks of graphical presentation of information, in my opinion.

What are Your Top 5 Kursk Scenario picks?

Is the cost of producing a SK style board about the same as a sheet of overlays? One SK board with and another without the overlays? Not sure what you mean here.

    MMP Playmats back in stock.

Think mousepad. For instance, the Red Factories pad is 24" x 14" by 1/8", and they even say "perfect to use as a keyboard/mouse mat". Typically playmats have a rubber bottom and a soft, almost cloth-like top. They lay flat, can be rolled up, etc.

    Confirm my understanding of D15.54

Just to confirm... and another reason why I really like the Index. "PTC: (Pin Task Check): (see Pin NA for PTC exceptions) ..." "Pin NA: A7.8 ... [Motorcyclist: D15.54]" This reinforces D15.54 in more clear language, in my opinion. I really do like the Index. I believe it should always be a...

    ASLOK XXXVIII - October 6th thru 13th, 2024

I doubt it. I get the "expired certificate" message, but I continue anyway, and then I get: 404 ERROR - PAGE NOT FOUND Oh well (I am investigating, I wonder if it is a Wordpress issue...)

    ASLOK XXXVIII - October 6th thru 13th, 2024

None of the links in this thread have worked for me, they all result in 404 not found messages. An internet search likewise found no information. Is there a good link where I can find ASLOK info?

    AFV vs Concealed big ?

I just noticed that I left out a step in my prior response. The hit itself would not cause concealment loss. After securing the hit, you would have to get at least a PTC on the IFT, at which time concealment would be lost if there were Vulnerable PRC. I completely forgot to mention that pesky...

    AFV vs Concealed big ?

When I just looked at it, it seems to me that you could attack the Location using ITT (+2 for Concealment), and if you score a hit would be entitled to ask whether there are any Vulnerable PRC susceptible to a General Collateral Attack. If I was really not sure, but AFV were potentially...

What are Your Top 5 Kursk Scenario picks?

"Large, AFV-heavy scenarios" may be subjective. In the case of A51 Clash Along the Psel, with potentially dozens of AFV in play at the same time, it became an administrative nightmare. The early playtests included full use of Target Acquisition. It was a slog. And it soon became apparent that...

What are Your Top 5 Kursk Scenario picks?

Alas, I fear that A51 Clash Along the Psel is destined for the dust bin of history. I am not sure how many even know it or remember it. In today's ASL world, it has a lot going against it, not least of which is the shorter attention spans/less time among players, it seems. Not to mention the...

What are Your Top 5 Kursk Scenario picks?

Piss someone off? Well yes, but... you might be missing out on a fantastic scenario. ... or unless it is 1991, you have scant original sources, and you are given a toolbox to create a field out of whole cloth ... To your point, with so many scenarios to play, why complain at all if a...

    Vehicular movement basic questions

This. Exactly right. "Enforcing the rules" is often not very popular, I never really learned a way to do it without coming across as a jerk. Some have not taken it kindly to have the rules "enforced" upon them. (Sorry for off-topic mini-rant..)
