    Japanese use of captured MGs

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java the thoughts acquire speed, The hands acquire shaking, The shaking becomes a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

    Japanese use of captured MGs

The Japanese captured a number of American scout cars in the Philippines.

    Japanese use of captured MGs

Is there an extension which has captured American MMGs and HMGs for the Japanese OB?

    MMP Errata files for download....

I complain about this scenario because I think it is a good three player introduction for a new player, and it's annoying that the VC are bjorked.

Which means the Americans can capture one of the ELR 1 Italian squads which set up out in front, then call it a day and defend on the edge of the board to claim victory. The original scenario had it that you capture both locations to win, or one location and have the CVP advantage.

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

Okay, in Hatten the drawn blacks are not returned and I was expecting that is what you favoured, and was working around those probabilities which make subsequent missions less likely but not impossible (or inevitable either). If instead you're going to return the blacks too, that's a bit different.

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

Fair enough then, I thought you were more inclined to advocate the less subtle options like "3/1, red goes back". From back when J13 and the analysis of OBA draw options came out, the most important takeaway for me was that for each option considered they would have a different likely outcome...

And why can't the designer say, for this scenario the Russians use the CW OBA availability?

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

Unfortunately there is not much room for subtlety in such a simple system where all the blacks are intended to be drawn i.e. the number of blacks is the number of fire missions the player can count on, even if the owner actually just moves one SR around the board to threaten concentrations...

    Animation feature

Ahhh, now we're going to need a sound clip of boots marching on gravel to play along with the animation.

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

As you have just said, the base of 5B/2R for the Russians should just be the common starting point for any generic situation. The designer can then use SSR to specify what they think the scenario deserves. It's one of the fundamental premises of ASL (along with reality be damned) that each...

My interpretation was that for that battle the designer had decided that both sides had essentially the same available artillery.

I think you mean J13, but yes you will recall that I originally asked if you had anything to follow up on your article in J13 but thinking of non-chit-pull alternatives. Your reply that was you had a preference now for the system used in Hatten In Flames. I have responded that the Hatten In...

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

Firstly you need to be able to recognize that there are some scenarios where the arrival or potential arrival of OBA is an integral part of the balance of the game. This may be to provide smoke as cover, or keeping the enemy from concentrating, or some other role. If that part of the OB ceases...

    MMP Roundtable 7 notes - February 2025

Considering the leaflet rules for RB/RF, and their applicability to normal scenarios with OBA, I'd say that on rolling a contact DR of 12, any OBA counters on the board are removed. I'm trying to wrap my head around the difference in performance of the different OBA chit-draw options for long...

Yes it does get that way some of the time. Not all of the time, but enough of the time to say out loud "this is stupid", then you carry on.
