Next dumb question concerning AFV and HD?

I'm in a hex with a stone building and a wall. I claimed HD to make it harder to hit. The AFV is NT. When I turn do I only pay the normal rate or is it doubled for being in a hex with the building even though I'm claiming the wall?

Or in this case a turn 2 BFF snake eyes crit versus a target my opponent couldn't even kill in the turret and needed a 1,2 to even hit me. Or in this case a 1,1 which in my mind is a miss because I'm HD, but no it's a hit.
