Robin, Sorry for the wasting of someone's time. Don 1 simply asked me what was the utility and usefulness of a staff car in ASL I had never seen or employed this unit in an ASL scenario. I have seen jeeps, however. Tim

Don1 should come over here and ask his questions directly - but I seem to remember that he doesn't use Internet or something like that?
The practical answer to the use of a car for an officer is to move him fast from a place to another.
Scenarios also depict features that were present in a given situation and which had some impact on it.
A car is a fragile vehicle (and would earn 1 CVP to the opponent, if it happened to be eliminated, not speaking of the passengers CVP value if they die in the process).
Sometimes, the only reason of such a vehicle is to avoid enemy fire.

All nationalities have cars, from all terrain cars to more convetional ones (such as the French Peugeot 202).
The designation "staff car" doesn't exist per se in ASL. A scenario designer could use the expression, though.
After what I read, it is Don1 who used the expression: did he make it up himself or was it used in the scenario's historical description?
Is there an SSR which gives special "staff car" instructions?
Otherwise, it is just a jeep/Kuebelwagen...

Robin, Don1 is too thin skinned to do this himself. Sort of akin to why that I was the spokesman for Thomas Rick's Lindley on the Alamo Movie Forum. I can take insults. Folks, I did receive the Stonne Heights 2016 rules in the mail today...I am told that I have to read it closely. I think that the company has a rule booklet $$$ for all the symbols on the purchase chart. Is this correct? I will call Don 2 today to find out the price. To start a discussion Don1 insists that the flaw in the Char B armor is a myth long believed, but without any source. He asserts that the vent portion of its armor was actually the strongest armor on the Char B. I will get the armor expert Don 2 to comment. Don 2 recently worked as the consultant for the War College's modern armor ASL classified game. Critical Hit is publishing a non classified version of it at some point. Tim

I’ve got a friend called Timmy27, he thinks Don1 should get it together.

He’s cool with Don2 though. No problem there.
The Oberst always numbered his orderlies as he didn't care about their names. The exception is Koch as this one has an invaluable knack for procuring exquisite French vintages in the most improbable places.

I’ll tell Timmy you said that.

Much obliged.

I hope Timmy doesn't feel bad because he is not as good as Koch with regard to the French vintages.
The Oberst relates, that certain Cuban quality cigars will do in his case - but please none of the fags chewed on by Patton.

This type here. The Oberst appreciates a motorcycle escort for the glamour.

Of course, the unequalled form of conveyance is the white charger.

A Dodge Charger?!! I didn't realize the Oberst was such a hot rod enthusiast.

Hey now, be kind! ;)
Army Colonel, whose name I can't recall, MOH recipient I believe, wrote a book I read about his experiences during the Korean war. An officer whose jeep broke down decided to emulate the cartoon in your avatar. He whipped out his pistol and fired a shot that ricocheted off the wheel and struck him in the head killing him.

I believe he related another story about a replacement fresh out of boot camp who was told to go into a foxhole and not touch anything. He went to the foxhole as directed. Shortly afterwards there was an explosion. He only listened to part of the order.

Don2 says Don1 should go to the Critical Hit message board for questions. Sounds like good advise. Don 2 agree with Don 2 about the myth of the weak side of the Char B armor. Don 1 says that there was no documented case of a French 37L taking out a Char B because of a hit near the vent on the tank. Tim

Tim1 agrees that Don1 should go to CH message board for questions. Tim2 is not sure and thinks it's up to John3. John3 want to wait til hears from Don2 (though you know John3 always stick with Peter1). Larry3 heard Mary2 is heading for the Albany Tournament. Dan6 is buying an icecream cone from Jack2. Peter3 is not feeling the best but he thinks there has never been a documented case where folks are taken out after drinking mouthwash. John2 figured : heck, who knows? He put a question up on CH message board for RayT77 - Mama7
