A stack (squad/ AFV) start movement together, move 2 hexes (Inf have spent total of 2 mp). They then split and the infantry late cx's for a total of 5 mp. Can the AFV then spend all of it's remaining movement factors (IE: 16 MF)?
The AFV is not limited in its MP expediture but rather it cannot move farther than if it were accompanied by that same Infantry through the move—even if that Infantry fails to end its MPh in the same hex with the AFV (D9.31).A stack (squad/ AFV) start movement together, move 2 hexes (Inf have spent total of 2 mp). The way I understand it is that the AFV is not limited to 5 hexes, but rather by how far the infantry could move in MF.The AFV is not limited in its MP expediture but rather it cannot move farther than if it were accompanied by that same Infantry through the move—even if that Infantry fails to end its MPh in the same hex with the AFV (D9.31).
So if you Late CX your infantry, which enables it to move 5 hexes instead of 4, the AFV cannot move farther than 5 hexes. Besides that, it may move less hexes and spend its MP as it sees fit in any of them up to its normal maximum allowance in total.

Correct, While the AFV doesn't spend MF, it can go no farther than they original Infantry could go with it if it continued with the AFV, so you need to count both MP and MF when the AFV moves. The way I understand it is that the AFV is not limited to 5 hexes, but rather by how far the infantry could move in MF.
And should add whether the Infantry could have employed Road Bonus and/or employed "Late CX".Correct, While the AFV doesn't spend MF, it can go no farther than they original Infantry could go with it if it continued with the AFV, so you need to count both MP and MF when the AFV moves.
Offhand, I can't think of a situation how Infantry could get further than 5 hexes with 5 MF.The way I understand it is that the AFV is not limited to 5 hexes, but rather by how far the infantry could move in MF.
I think one could add in road bonus for the infantry.Offhand, I can't think of a situation how Infantry could get further than 5 hexes with 5 MF.
But basically, you are correct. If the Infantry has 5MF the AFV could not move further than to a location that the Infantry could reach with its 5MF, provided the AFV has enough MPs to do so and is otherwise able to enter it.
So, for example, while the Infantry would be able to pass through 2 Woods hexes and into 1 OG hex behind, the fully tracked AFV could never get further as part of an Armored Assault as the 2nd Woods hex as the entry of both costs half of the AFV's MP allotment each.
If the terrain is 1 OG and 2x Woods hex and otherwise OG all around, Infantry and AFV could Armored Assault 1MP/MF together in OG, then split, the Infantry spend the remaining 4MF moving through both Woods hexes, while the AFV moves another 4 hexes across OG.
Of course, an AFV will not be able to Armored Assault into the upper level of a Building, while Infantry can after splitting from the AFV.

That's right, but then it would have an additional MF to spend rather than getting further than 1 hex with a single MF.I think one could add in road bonus for the infantry.
Same is true for Skiers, which get two additional MF per Downhill hex, but still can't get further than 1 hex with 1 MF.Ski s ?
