Hi all,
came across a situation today in our red Barricades game as follows:
A hex has two 4-2-6 conscript Russian squads directed by a 6 + 1 leader, they fire at a German unit in the same factory 2 hexes away. What is the residual firepower that is left?
When we first looked it seemed to be 4 (1/2 of 8) then down one to 2 due to the LOS hinderance from the first factory hex that the fire went through. The +1 for the TEM of the factory hex the target is in does not reduce the residual firepower. think this is correct so far?
Then we came across rule A8.26 which states in the last paragraph - 'Negative DRM (such as those for leadership etc ect)' do not effect residual firepower. The first section of this rules states that positive modifiers outside of the hex do reduce residual firepower.
So we have a +1 leader directing the fire - does the residual fire power go down to 1 as this is a positive modifier outside of the hex and but only negative leadership modifiers are ignored for residual fire purposes.
We thought it did not effect the residual firepower as residual firepower reflects, we assume, stray bullets' and ricochets etc not the main fire- were we correct or should the residual firepower be reduced to 1?
Any help as always appreciated
Regards
Simon
