Another slope rule conundrum

Slope rules (referencing Ctr 6.3) says ""barring other obstructions to LOS, an up-slope unit - even if not in a hill crest line hex - can trace a LOS across an up-slope hexside of its hex to a lower elevation (i.e. across a hill crest line)…"

The rule doesn't mention how many crest lines or distance to crest lines from the up-slope hex. Taking this to a ridiculous extreme, an up-slope unit 3/4 of a level above a crest line that is 30 hexes away can see units on the other side of the crest line at a lower elevation, while a non-up slope unit at level 3 or 4 in the same situation cannot.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a limit to how many crest lines an upslope unit can see over. So again, upslope can easily see over 8 crest lines to successively lower elevations while higher level units can't. This seems crazy. Is that how slopes really work?

The rules do mention that slopes don't affect the application of A6.41-43. That means blind hexes of crest lines are created normally; e.g, after 5 hexes of same elevation, there is a blind hex. Just as if the unit were one level higher. A slope hex is no better at getting LOS to a target than a unit one level higher than the level it is at.

Also, the rule says "barring other obstructions to LOS" - (same as the rule in KGP, btw) - a Crest Line that creates a Blind Hex would be a "obstructions to LOS", IMO.
