Hi, I'm just getting started with VASL and wanted to ask if it makes any sense to use dual monitors with it? (Did a search, didn't really find anything...)

Currently I only have one monitor, so before buying another I'd like to know if people find it useful to have another monitor with tables, counters, etc.?

Yes, very useful to have two monitors, one for the map, one for the chat window, counters, etc. You can run VASL with it all combined into one window, and I still do so occasionally when using a laptop, but it is almost painful after having the split screen.

YES! Maps/ counters on one screen and charts and such on another.

Of course you could buy the Rat Pocket Charts and blow them up to double the size and use them as a chart reference as well.

Two monitors make a difference.
On the larger one I have the map, chat and counters windows.
On the smaller ones the charts, draggable overlays windows.

Dammit. Another VASL marketing opportunity missed.

Alt-tab is your friend. If you are playing with Skype, you rarely leave the map window and I have a browser open with then eASLRB inmit for reference.
Personally I find a large monitor less than ideal with playing vasl.
My daughter has a 20" monitor and a 48" secondary screen. I think thats overkill.

Aaargh, another item for my Amazon wishlist. Need to clear out some desk real estate first.

But has anyone tried those apps that allow you to use an iPad as a second monitor? I tried one years ago and it didn't work very well...

I use Duet with my iPad. I hear the next iOS might support this function natively. It works, but an iPad is not large.
