Hi everyone,
I like historical board games and ccgs.
I’ve played SSI, VG, AH, all the old school stuff; Luftwaffe; Panzer Leader; lots of accumulated squad leader counters and boards….I realize from reading the ASL threads that my opponent and a I have stopped before the GI;ASL rule changes. (Less detail, but less counters to knock over,

There are a few folk who still play old style Squad Leader and enjoy it. Good luck to them! Modern board wargaming has moved on a bit and if you can find an opponent, you will still get great pleasure from. The old AH titles but it’s worth trying newer titles too. You’d be surprised by how well some mechanics work.

Hey there. I have found that using the old game rules, that sticking to up to the COI level of rules is about right. With the final two games in the set, the rules start to contradict earlier rules too much and it loses its elegance.
