I will be running an ASL Tourney at Nashcon/2021, Nashville TN. The details for the convention can be found in the link.

Following are the details on the tourney:

Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) Tournament at NASHCON (August 20-22 / 2021)

Presented by North Alabama / Southern Tennessee ASL Club (NASTy ASL)

Planned 3 round (matches) and a possible 4th depending on participation. No set time limit will be enforced for each round. Theoretically it would be preferred to have Round-1 on Friday (20th) afternoon/evening, Round-2 Saturday (21st) morning and Round-3 Saturday (21st) afternoon/evening. The tournament director will have authority to adjudicate any scenario, in any round at any time.

Rules per ASL Rule book Version-2 (ASLRBv2 / latest eASLRB). Rules include module releases thru August 1st, 2021. Exceptions (House Rules) and/or optional rules are allowed per mutual consent between opposing players in a given scenario. The tournament director will be the final judge for any rules questions/conflicts.

Open Theme: All scenarios from any theater covered by the ASL Universe are eligible for each round (players must agree on scenario selected). However, it is recommended that players keep in mind the time constraints when selecting a scenario to play. Number of turns and counter density should be given due consideration when determining being able to complete a scenario within a given round. An optional list of scenarios by round will provided as well.

Open ASL gaming is allowed and encouraged.

I dedicated part of a song to your event in the Altering Songs for ASL thread, Nashcon Cats. Apologies to you, your event and the Lovin' Spoonful but I couldn't stop thinking about it. 🤔🙄😉🤣

I'm in Nashville and I'd be happy to play ASL. How is attendance looking so far for ASL tournament? I was thinking about playing in the Bolt Action miniatures tournament, but that was before I knew ASL was going to be there. I'm not a particularly competitive player, but I am a good one. I've been playing since original AH release. If anyone reading this lives near Nashville and is looking for an ASL opponent for F2F games, drop me a line here. I've only been here about a year, so given the pandemic, I haven't met anyone yet who knows of anyone who plays in the area.

I'm registered for Nashcon and need to communicate to the organizer that:
A) I can't be at the convention site until around 6-7 p.m. because of a job situation
B) I am local (Gallatin) and I'm curious what of my collection I should be bringing as essentials for myself and what I might bring of my collection to help the organizer, within reason (My ASL collection is precious to me).

Many thanks to Tate Rodgers for running an excellent NASHCON ASL event!

I had a great a great time.... definitely going again next year!!

1) Lots of counter pushing and "rolling the bones"

2) Adjudication of the inevitable rules / ASLRB banter back and forth among the players while games are in progress

3) Seeing old friends / ASL players F2F after way too long

4) Meeting new players in the local & regional area

5) Great Pizza on Friday night

6) Having a fridge in the game area (Bonus!)

7) Well stocked Prize chest
