Evidently, re-learning some PTO rules.

A Brit squad attempts to move from a Gully into adjacent bamboo, a minimum move. The Jpn reveal a HIP HS in the bamboo hex and bounce the Brit squad back to the gully hex.

Is the Brit squad now both CX and Pinned in the gully hex?

Thanks,

Rich

One has to question the Japanese player's decision, as he could have invoked G.4 and made mincemeat of the British squad in the CCPh. But perhaps the halfsquad was not stealthy, or perhaps there was some deeper reason.

Per A12.15, "the MF expended in attempting to move into the concealed unit's Location are still used, but are considered expended in the Location it is returned to." That probably led to the conclusion in this q&a:

q&a said:
A12.15 & G3.2 A MMC attempts to move into a Bamboo hex contained a concealed enemy MMC. It is repulsed, but is it also CX and Pinned when being returned to its previously occupied Location?
A. Yes, both Pinned and CX.

My Brits were in the process of overrunning the Jpn village.

It made sense for the HIP HS to bounce my MMC so as to keep the ability to fire as his comrades were being menaced.

Unique case for sure.
