Afternoon Fellow ASL Berserkers!
Peter Rogneholt's Russians defeated my valiant Finns in our playing of ASL 164 "Torment At Tourmua."
Fun scenario .. first time for both of us playing a scenario from HP. Peter took the lead in CVP's early
and my Finns just couldn't recoup enough CVP back. Great game, great opponent and wish
Peter good luck in Round 2.
Cheers ya'll!

In the Top League, Mike AUGUSTINE's Russians won against Carl NOGUEIRA's Germans in FrF98 Amerikanskaya Suka. I can safely say that the dice gods smiled on me in both our sessions, while simultaneously spitting in Carl's eyes. DR averages are attached for the last session. Both of us played good games that were smartly aggressive with minimal mistakes, but my dice continually rewarded me, while punishing Carl. As an example, his two flamethrower shots caused decent MCs, but I rolled HOB (w/ Fanatic results) both times.
Wow those TH & IFT averages are almost unbelievable for the number of DRs involved! You weren't just hot, you were smok'en hot!

last few days remaining to complete round one. The dead line is the 15th April for everyone
so you have just a couple of week-ends available since the 15th April is a Monday...

John Bocks Germans defeated Alan Krauses Belgians in FrF 86 Belgian Tigers. The Germans got across the canal in pretty good shape and the Belgians could not buy a rally die roll. Thanks for the match Alan

Larry Rohlfing's Finns defeated Jason Burnette's Germans in ASL 176 The Only Way Out.

The Finns inflicted 8 VP on the first turn and never looked back.

Fun moment of the game, a conscript HS bumps the German squad. Jason wants resid so he fires. The HS breaks with ELR. The concealed leader and two squads AM and one pins in the ensuing RFP and SFF. The conscript is disrupted so he surrenders. The leader and remaining squad waltz in in the advance phase and kill the guard. The conscript HS is rearmed and never had to rally.

Declaring No Quarter may have been a good option for the Germans there.

Chris Mazzei and I have started J175 Bedburg Bite. His Canadians entered unscathed, as my (too) forward defence was not able to do any damage. Still a long way to go..but my Germans looks have a lot of work to do.
...and we are done!..I was not able to stop Chris getting the required VP's. It didn't help my cause bogging the halftrack and breaking the gun on the Jadpanzer and then rolling a recall!!. Well done Chris..maybe next time!

In the Central West League, Rick Galli's Germans defeated Bob Zinselmeyer's Americans in DB080 "Task Force to Cotignac".

This is a fun scenario with a lot of replay value due to the choice of setup areas & corresponding partisan OOB. Greyhounds, halftracks, Americans, and FFI Partisans versus Pz 35Rs, Kubelwagens, and second line Germans! Bob's Partisans took a beating in the early turns, and the Germans were able to keep them from breaking into the village. The Germans facing the Americans were able to slow down and disrupt the American advance just enough that by the start of Turn 5 the Americans conceded.

Bob is a great guy to play with and I wish him the best of luck in future rounds.

OMG, people have close too 2 months to finish a game. Truly sad.
I have noticed an error in the tournament rules in the first page of the thread

first two rounds are of 45 days each
1 March 15 April
16 April 30 May

round 3 is the summer round that can last longer
1 June -31 August
Round 4 and Round 5 are again of 45 days each
1 September 15 October and 16 October - 30 November

for the 4-Round leagues round 4 starts on 1st September and ends on the 30 November so they have de facto about 90 days for the last Round.

I have mistakenly written 30 June as last day of Round 2 instead of 30 May.
People receiving the pairings for round 2 have seen the correct schedule 16 April -30 May.

It's necessary point the fact that this apparently bizzarre schedule is due to the late start of season 2019 and cannot be improved in any way, at least in my opinion.
From 2020 all should return as normal, with five 60 days Rounds starting on 1st Jan

Paul Schaeffer's Russians will try to hold against Paolo Carioloto's Germans in FrF 50, Pavlov's Dogs. Here's hoping at least one AFV goes down to one of my canine avengers.
