Go Fish with the G-kids.

I lost miserably... Or they've perfect the art of "slight-of-hand" very well.......

I believe the three of them have their own little facial expressions and noises to communicate with one-another........

you were squarely beaten by 3 superior intellects. One cannot fault the logic of young children. It is , perfect.

My Granddaughter.... "why is there a speed limit in the first place? If we're not following standard government rules to save fuel, why have one anymore?"

Now come on, you got to admit, it makes WAAAYYY too much sense.

Hire teenagers while they still know the answer to everything

Been playing Pandemic with the kids ever since Christmas - great little game that my 8yo daughter just loves to bits. She's way better at it than the rest of us.....

Played a couple of the scenarios of GMT's Battle for Normandy over Xmas and last week wrapped up solo play of Normandy 44--great operational-level games.

Now am working on a scenario of my own creation for spaceship combat game of Full Thrust. It is a Star Trek Mirror universe scenario using a couple of Trek ships I got for Xmas.

Make sure you get the On The Brink expansion for it as it adds a lot to the game.

I've been on a co-op kick lately. Ghost Stories with the White Moon expansion is a tough little co-op. I just ordered Pathfinder as I've heard a lot of great things about it. I really want Robinson Crusoe, but it sells out too fast.

My two teenage boys had some hockey buddies over for sleepovers during holiday break and when they were not on the ice in the backyard they were playing Zombicide hooting-n-hollering. At about 2:30am my wife finally had me go downstairs to shut them up. Some how they talked me into a (waitress) character on roller-skates wielding a chainsaw. My task was to skate down alleys making all the noise I could to draw attention away from the objectives so the boys could sneak around town to gather all they could before the flood was released. Needless to say we all had our brains picked over by walkers, runners and fatties at 5:45 that morning..

Speaking of hockey - couldn't resist it at the thrift store, a top quality slide and spin the flat plastic hockey players on their curved runners with the marble inside the puck - game with a random drop from the overhead scoring bar onto the ice... Made by MB in the 70's (?) love these things as a kid, for $5.95 we got to play a double header!!

yeah, go colonel!! right on!!! and the NY Islanders swept the match.

Tried Forbidden Desert this weekend.
A nice coop, fast and challenging coop game (sequel of Forbidden Island).
2-5 people have crashed with their chopper in a mysterious desert, which covers a hidden city.
They must explore the city, to find four pieces of a flying machine, join the exit tile and get away from the desert before one of them dies of thirst, or the desert storm gets too intense or sand covers too much the place.
Each player has a specialised character (water bearer, explorer, archaeologist, ...) who can help the group in a particular way.
Very accessible but quite challenging.
Superb components.
We lost.
I am looking forward to overcome the challenge.
For a game under 20 $, it is a little gem.

My wife and I are working through Pathfinder: Rise of the Runelords, a fun card game set in the Pathfinder fantasy setting and based on the D&D 3.5 rules set.

We've also played a few euros recently - T'zolkin is very good, heavy worker placement with a difference, and Dominare is a conspiracy themed area controlled game.

I enjoy the hell out of Pathfinder. Though I need to get the wife to play it\

-Pathfinder the card game, tons of fun. Too easy but tons of fun

-Napoleon Against Europe. Card driven game about the Napoleonic Wars. Only one session, but I am optimistic. Great components.

Peace

Been thinking about this one - now I'll have to pick it up!
Played it twice with four of my students this evening...
We lost twice.
The first time because one of us died of thirst and the second time because we were smothered under the sand - but we were really close to winning the game.
It is really a gripping game and the more time runs, the more danger is around.
The students loved it - but it can easily be played with kids (coop is a good way to debate together about strategies and the feeling of facing challenges together can create a nice group feeling - unless you have the "dominant male" type of player who tries to decide for everybody).
As the game is rather cheap (about 25$), the bang per buck ratio is high.

Played GMT's Cuba Libre at a recent ASL game day. I had my fill of ASL during the week. It was my first playing, so was a little bit rough, but very fun, nuanced game.

Too easy? Add another location. Still too easy? Add two more cards to each location.

Nothing says you can't give the balance provision to the bad guys. :)

My twins and I have finished the first two scenarios. Only 2 cards left in turn deck in our last one. Can't wait to finish our third scenario, so we can choose our first feat.

Hi!

I was thinking of randomly dealing locations to spice it up. Though I do like the idea of adding a card to each pile.

I wonder if adding a location is too much. I plan on having a couple drinks and playing a game over the weekend.

Once I get it where I think it is in the right spot as far as difficulty, I am going to start a campaign.

I should say I have only played twice and both games were won without much difficulty.

Peace

PS I did pick up the character expansion. Cool new characters, but I found the druid to be pretty weak........
